Detailed head-er

adhemleneibanner2015headsdetail

Click for larger. Decided it was high time to turn the temporary header into a slightly more detailed header. I tweaked the anatomy a little bit but Esgalwen’s nose is still blurp. I mostly did this to procrastinate on the last Transistor fanart which is the most ambitious one. I may tweak this further but it’s a lot shinier than it was before.

This week I found out that front break-falls in karate have been messing up my neck so not going to do those anymore.

Header WIP

Just uploaded a new header for the site; I’m reasonably happy with the lineart (except Flairé – what’s going on with your face, buddy?) but I’ll probably completely redo the colour later. Still, there’s enough here to update the banner with something a little more indicative of my current art and most important characters. : P

As for the characters, they’re pretty evenly mixed, I think… two kalmaei, one elf, one Hylian, two humans, a dragon, and an angel… and five males to three females isn’t bad. What is a little more odd is that there are four brunettes and three with black hair; not a lot of diversity there, and four with brown eyes, three with green, and one with grey.

If anyone doesn’t know who these people are, from L-R it’s: Zela and her son Flairé from the Adhemlenei, Esgalwen/Illinia from Mirkwood (Middle Earth), Ceniro of Santaruz from Elibe (FF7), Rana from Hyrule (LoZ), Hrulash and Garekhen from Rifted Riders, and Angel from my head. These people are the ones most fundamental to the development of my inner worlds.

Just wait: in a year or two, Liz will be on the header too. : P

Angel

Anatomy practice that somehow turned into my angel. : ) His shins are not long enough? Just enough to make him seem top-heavy, not by much.

I am much closer to having a clean room!!! I actually vacuumed today!!

I will post a really good picture tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Adhemlenei Header 2

Hi! Would you like to see a big version of the new header? Of course you would. XD Click for big version!

So why these people? Why not more actual Adhemlenei characters? Well, (*pompous tone of voice*) here at Adhemlenei, we encourage diversity. So, the fact that only one character on this header comes from the Adhemlenei makes no difference. My head is full of lots of stuff!

But yeah, there’s Flairé, because he is awesome and my favourite, and then there’s Ceniro, and Rana, and Esgalwen, and my guardian angel… I’m not sure why he showed up.

Flairé: Because you think he’s hot.

Ooookay, besides that. I mean, I can draw him any time I want, but why now?

So that’s representing the kalmaei, Fire Emblem, Zelda, and Middle Earth. And me. Twice. : P

In case you didn’t see them yet, you should scroll down and check out the latest two pages of Eros and Psyche, and then go to the next page and look at Aur, because I drew an Aur that looks like Aur. (He’s from the Wayrift webcomic, which made of win.)

Guardian Angel

This is my guardian angel, also known as the personification of my conscience. He doesn’t always carry that big sword around, but he does use it for beating off demons – and sometimes for whacking me over the head when I do something stupid. But mostly he whaps me in the head or shoulder with his hand – or just crosses his arms and looks disapproving.

He’s also supportive when I need him, but that’s more Flairé’s job. Continue reading

Wilderness

wilderness

This painting has been in my head since… Sunday, July 17th, around 5:00 PM. This was during an Evensong sermon at CCC, in which the pastor spoke to us organists about how we were all wonderful people but not adventurous unless pushed, so she challenged us to ‘step out of the box and head into the wilderness’ like John the Baptist and Christ and anyone else you can think of who went into the wilderness. Now that day I was really having a bad day, so the idea of ‘wilderness’ terrified me and I nearly broke down in church… but I did get this picture in my head, and I decided I felt like painting it because it’s an interesting picture.
