Anima’s Seal: Episode 7: Old School-Fellows

Episode 6: The Unflinching       Episode 8: Conscience Flying

Well, I’m pressing on, trying to finish this story by the end of the month. (Looking less and less likely, especially since I took a break two nights ago to play Nazi Zombie Sniper with my bro and co. Also battles are hard with TWO clever people, not just one.) But now Milton’s here! And Renee! Yayness! Now we can kick up the stakes a bit, make this less about “look at all these people you love hanging out!” and more about “omg drama”.

Episode 7: Old School-Fellows

Renee paced the floor in the upper chamber of the tower. “You said you wanted to talk, you jerkface! I thought you meant we’d go down to a pub like in the old days, not drag me all the way out to the Tanquet Pass fortress!”

“So you have been saying the last three days,” the tall armoured man said.

“Where have you even been, the last year? You resigned from Marquess Worde’s service and disappeared!”

“Marquess Worde could offer me nothing. I went back home, to Bern, and then to Khafti on a message from my friend there.” He gestured to the dark-cloaked man standing in the corner of the room. “But I want to know what you know about him.” Continue reading

Anima’s Seal: Episode 6: The Unflinching

Episode 5: Pherae’s Son       Episode 7: Old School-Fellows

This chapter was surprisingly hard to write, and there isn’t even any serious fighting in it! D: Anyway, I’m working really hard on creative projects right now, and I’m going to try to get this finished by Saturday, although I don’t know if I’ll make it. But I’m going to cross a WHOLE BUNCH of things off my to-do list by the end of April. I’m at least at the half-way point with Anima’s Seal!

I changed the chapter title because there was very little about Old Schoolfellows in this chapter. I had thought there would be more. But the big reveal is coming next chapter. Mwahahaha.

I have a new vacuum cleaner and it is magical.

EDIT: the wedding didn’t fit in the later chapters so I put it in here. EDIT 2: I fixed Farina and Dart’s entry to not be so blatantly shoe-horned in. : P

Episode 6: The Unflinching

“Demory,” Thornson said, “I would have brought you to Ostia to face Lord Hector’s judgement, not mine. All you had to do was behave honourably and refrain from attacking villages.”

“Cut the crap, Thorn,” Demory snarled. “You and your honourable cowardice – I should have won! Santaruz should have been mine! But then you brought Marquess Pherae’s reinforcements-”

“Marquess Pherae was only here by chance,” Thornson said. “In any case, it matters little what you believe now. You attacked my villages in a quest for wanton destruction, for petty revenge, and that means I consider you too dangerous to deliver to Ostia. May Saint Elimine have mercy on your soul.” He nodded to his captain. “Jocelyn.” Continue reading

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO

kevinbirthday2016

You know one thing my brother is good at? Shredding Plantera (and Skeletron Prime and Fishron) with the Megashark shooting Crystal Bullets (although they’ve probably released better gear by now) while wearing the Princess Dress dyed with Flame Dye and the stylish Regal Cloak.

Yes, I know Plantera shows up in jungle, not regular caves, and gets mad if you try to take him outside. Yes, I know it’s highly unlikely that these particular three bosses would show up at the same time (for one thing Skeletron Prime only shows up at night). …But it made for a cool picture.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONSTER

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM

So painting directly from a photo isn’t a terrible experience, although it is time-consuming. I managed to speed up considerably once I discovered that ALT turns the brush into the eyedropper tool… yeah, I know, the most basic of shortcuts. : P And in the end it just looks kind of like I put a filter on a photo. Which my dad took of a bee on the apple tree a couple weeks ago, that this is. Anyhow, thank goodness for the blend tool, it is my favourite. Now if only it worked across layers like the Photoshop smudge tool…

Happy birthday, Mom!

Anima’s Seal: Episode 5: Pherae’s Son

Episode 4: Dragon’s Breath      Episode 6: The Unflinching

Oh hei, it’s a chapter of Anima’s Seal. It’s Camp Nanowrimo time or something?

The big battle at the end of the chapter was written to the following Astebreed tracks: Return of the Fragments, The Same Origin, Destruction of the Core, and Prism Reflection. Although Prism Reflection is kind of my favourite so I use it for everything really. XD

Conveniently, I watched this about the same time I was thinking of Shiroe’s battle in Log Horizon episode 3 and his plan with the lights…

Episode 5: Pherae’s Son

“Our first destination should be Pherae,” Ceniro said over breakfast. “Eliwood probably still has Durandal. It’s further than Ostia, but the Western Isles are further still, and we don’t even know where we’re going in the Western Isles.”

“Wait, what did you say?” Rigel said. “Did you say that Marquess Pherae owns Durandal?”

“He’s been borrowing it,” Lyn said proudly. “Roland himself said he was worthy. But our task for it is long done, and Durandal should be returned to its resting place.”

Rigel’s face was overwritten with questions, but she refrained from asking them. Continue reading
