Backflip!

(fwoop)

(fwoop)

Now Zela is showing off… badly… Again, I didn’t draw enough curve in the back as a whole. I’m not doing too good on the shading either.
“This sure is a family of acrobats” I wrote on the bottom of the page.

Twister!

You're behind me!

You\’re behind me!

Um… I think Flairé is trying to impersonate a top, but I tried too hard on the corkscrew so it didn’t turn out. His face is too sharp and the sword is too small, even pointing directly at the camera. The only part of this that I like is perhaps the hair and the shadow his scabbard makes on his tunic-skirt.

Flairé, playing D&D Kv.1

Dude, let me out. Seriously.

Dude, let me out. Seriously.

This was drawn from a rather funny sequence involving Flairé and Dungeons and Dragons.
Flairé: What do you mean? All sequences with me in them are funny.
Yeah, but this one was extra funny. Here’s how it was.
Dungeon: Room 1: Jervis is hallucinating fighting dragons solo.
Room 2: Marialla is overcome with terror at seeing her reflection reflected a million zillion times.
Room 3: Dwarf Wiz’s energy is completely drained and he can’t move an inch.
Room 4: Flairé decides he’d better not go in, as the Dungeon Master has just pointed out that we’re losing one party member per room, and in a predictable pattern. Ron is the only one unaffected. So Flairé tries to be prudent and my brother drags him into the room anyway, using wierd enchantments. And yeah, Flairé can fall asleep fast when bored.

Ton o’ Flairé sketches

Jumbled dismembered people

Jumbled dismembered people

Um….? I did more Flairé fanart. Jumbled around in random connexion to each other. I think I started with the one that’s sitting on a flat surface, right in the middle.
Flairé: I want more clothes, please!
Then, before I did the hair, I did the big head behind him. So the hair never got done. Super shading happened, but not very convincingly. Then I did a head with pretty hair and a sword, except that little bit is pretty awful compared to Flairé. I think Flaria stole his sword and is masquerading as her brother. Down at the bottom is Zela on the left and Flairé on the right (Flaer I was not interested in at this time, despite being an older copy of the same person. You will know instantly when I became interested in Flaer again, in some months). The point of those two was to illustrate the subtle difference between a kalla (woman elf) and a kalma (man elf). They both have slender waists and hips and shoulders, but the kalla has the slightest bit of a curve to her chest. So that settled that problem.

Flairé kicking

Wham! I think Flairé likes sound effects

Wham! I think Flairé likes sound effects

I wanted to draw Flairé in a super-cool action pose, kicking right at the ‘camera’. I guess at the viewer. But it didn’t work because of, as usual, anatomy. I drew a little sketch from the side, but that didn’t work either. Nice hair, though, even if it’s blowing around a bit too crazily. Makes his head look big. Still, you may notice the tunic design for Zela’s family is nearing its current form!

Unknown and Flairé

Whirling hair, complacent flair

Whirling hair, complacent flair

I decided that I really need to figure out how people are shaped. And given my new obsession with Flairé, it’s completely unsurprising that he’s here. The other girl is just a random girl with a fabulous body and hair. And she can dance. If I looked like her I think I might, just maybe, actually be happy with the way I looked. (smaller chest requested, though). Oh, well.
Flairé: Other… girl? Not you, too.
Sorry. The other person who is a girl. Yeah. And Flairé himself looks rather dorky here.
Flairé: Don’t ever draw me in my underclothes again.
Will do. Your feet are rather small.
Flairé: No kidding.

Elfin (and Turmith)

(stare)

(stare)

Yay! Something that turned out! If you don’t remember them these two heads are representative of my Silver Helm guys. Turmith, or at least part of him that was abandoned due to NOT turning out, is on the left. Elfin is on the right, sans armour… and what a handsome fellow he is. So earnest looking. He’s my favourite. Here’re the minis, to remind you: Turmith, Elfin.

Fai and Touya

Back to back, although complete strangers to each other

Back to back, although complete strangers to each other

My two favourite characters of Tsubasa Chronicle are Fai and Touya. Touya’s hair is completely terrible. I’m not sure what the kanji say anymore. I think ‘challenge’. The little Touya is better. And these guys would never have met in canon, so I guess I just stuck them together. Man, I like Touya’s big sword. It has no detail here, though.

Fai poses for the camera

He usually likes dodging, but it's fun to knock out multiple targets, too.

Colby Purcell once declared herself to be “a screaming fangirl for Fai!” I agree. Fai rules. I guess by this time I had watched up to the episode in which there is a temple floating in the sky with a narrow path up to it and bad guys come out of portals and attack them. Fai, forgoing his magic, does a whole bunch of really cool acrobatics fighting them off. He pretends to be lazy, but he’s really cool to watch. This picture is terrible, especially the bad guys (blobs, as usual) but it’s my first Tsubasa fanart…

And another thank you to Colby for providing the link to the YouTube video of Episode 1 and introducing me to YouTube and Tsubasa at one stroke. You can’t find it on there any more… copyright issues. I bought the DVD, as I think I said once. Not the pinnacle of excellence, but it’s Tsubasa, and that’s enough.
