Zela and Flaer kiss

Diagonal kissing? When was that invented?

Diagonal kissing? When was that invented?

Hi! Just putting up a picture before I go waste my brain cells on KOTOR II again. I’m getting close to the end. Um, this picture is… not very good. I mean, it’s better than usual for a picture of people kissing, but it’s of people kissing, and I’m not very good at that. I think. I haven’t tried in a while. Anyway, there is no real story behind this picture. It’s just Zela and Flaer, kissing. Because they do that on occasion. When their children aren’t looking. : )

You know the theme song of Red Dwarf? Of course you know the theme song from Red Dwarf. “I want to lie/shipwrecked and comatose/drinking fresh mango juice…” Anyway, it was written by Howard Goodall. But wait, you say, who the heck is Howard Goodall? Well, one person he is… in the episode of Mr. Bean in which he goes to church and they sing the hymn with all the Alleluias – I’ll look it up later; right now we just call it the Mr. Bean Hymn – and there is an ORGANIST. And the ORGANIST is HOWARD GOODALL. In case you were wondering. He also wrote an interesting book called Musical Big Bangs.

Dwinderling

dwinderling

Crown made of silver sand, ultimately

Ohmigoodness, ohmigoodness, I love this picture. I’m not entirely sure what it means, but it looks like Flaer is being emo and holding a crumbling crown and Zela is holding him but has no comfort to offer other than that. And isn’t Dwinderling a great word?

Okay, sadly that’s all I have to say about this picture right now. Maybe I’ll remember something later. But I do think this is a great picture.

Flaer and two Links

Prince of the Land of the Moon

Prince of the Land of the Moon

Flaer’s new hair! I like this way better than the old, non-descript version. Isn’t it pretty… I am also happy with the way he’s folding his arms. It came out almost looking normal!

Gee, he has hair longer than me! Is that a problem?

The top Link head is not wonderful, but the bottom is passable. Mouth a bit crooked, though. Not sure what they’re doing on the same page as Flaer, though.

Zela’s Family

The whole pile at once

The whole pile at once

This is Zela and Flaer’s complete family. From L-R, T-B (top to bottom), Flaer, the hero of the story, who has since had a slight makeover, Zela, the heroine of the story, Flairé, looking wierd and the narrator of at least part of it, Flaria, the token gracious female, Menad, who’s looking quite a beauty here despite the fact that he goes evil at some point, Marteth, who we met yesterday and who still has stupid hair and this time a stupid face as well, Bayn, wearing Griffin-land style clothes and looking a bit odd (jaw too straight), Gullac, winking roguishly at the viewer because that’s what he does, and finally, Mathaning, the naive innocente. This is the best picture of him.

So, finally, the whole of Zela’s family has been represented graphically at least once. Good!

Flaer

Prince-type. Obviously.

Prince-type. Obviously.

I drew Flairé again, but he came out a bit seriously, so I called it Flaer. And then I drew the back of his head, and the hair is too long and swirly, but it’s pretty!! And that squiggle next to Flairé’s sword hilt is Flaer’s sword hilt, just so I knew what it looked like.

Elvish Parade

Ooh, they're so shiiiiiiny

Ooh, they’re so shiiiiiiny

I love this picture, even though it’s technically not finished. There should be more crowds, for one thing; that’s why the buildings on the left aren’t done. I decided that 15 was enough knights, including Flaer and Zela – for that’s who the two unhelmeted riders are. There’s so much in this picture, like several swooning girls, talking, excited riders, city, unicorns, blah blah blah… I’m afraid to touch it in case Zela’s hair gets smudged. The horses are still not great, but they are better than some, especially Yoeath, Zela’s unicorn, who was here still called Mist. Also, the armour looks actually pretty well developed, even if it’s not armour that a normal knight person would wear. It’s been skewed by Fire Emblem. Sorry.

This picture was inspired by the Dream March from Copland’s Red Pony Suite.

Zela Small Family Portrait

We should have dressed up a bit more... at least Mom let her hair down

We should have dressed up a bit more… at least Mom let her hair down

Yes, one of my faceless pictures. Hey, I think it works, and even looks good sometimes. Family portrait of the first four members of Zela’s family. The other five I didn’t have character designs yet for. Though, I did write their names on the side, in preparation… and it looks like wise Bayn has his name as Bayn-nu. Well, I don’t know. Anyway, Zela’s got her hair loose for once, and the pose sort of works, but their feet all look stupid. And Flairé must be shy about his hands or something.

Dance I

Can you hear the music?

Can you hear the music?

This is Flair, and Zela, dancing. It’s not one of my worse pictures, but their heads seem a bit small. I think they need to be more slender. And the legs aren’t too short, for once… Flair in particular has a nice face. Zela’s supposed to be the exact same height as he is, so she’s bending a little. Doesn’t actually look so bad on the computer.

I can’t draw hands yet.

Zela and Flair in tree beside inlet

Water, rocks, trees... perfect elf habitat

Water, rocks, trees… perfect elf habitat

A Zela picture with Zela in it! How rare!

This was drawn on holiday at my former piano teacher’s fishing resort. My dad did a webpage for her so she gave us a free package. So we invited my grandparents over and we all went fishing. Mom and Grandma and I all went together for an afternoon, and the next day Dad and Grandpa and my brother all went. Also some orcas swam through, which meant that we weren’t catching much.

But this has nothing to do with drawing a picture. The picture comes from the fact that there is absolutely gorgeous scenery around that resort, perfect for Zela. So, I drew her and her husband in an area that looks remarkably like the bay outside my window. I like her tunic dress. Flair is so very short. I miscalculated the page. Blah. I still like the picture, even if the artwork itself is mediocre.
