Hollas

Playing on a half size... you're doing it...?

Playing on a half size… you’re doing it pretty good…?

And this is Hollas, violinist virtuoso and composer extraordinare, as I saw him at one of the violin class recitals, I think. His hair was shiny and made me want to draw it. But I drew his violin much much too small and never got around to fixing it (hence the arrow that says ‘fix’). I drew the piano in the background, but it was too distracting so I removed it again. And it doesn’t really look like Hollas because I didn’t actually use a real-life reference. But it’s supposed to be Hollas.

Did I say that Kim has a fantastic cute haircut? Kim has a fantastic cute haircut.

Swirly Ephraim

Swirly Ephraim is swirly

Swirly Ephraim is swirly

This is a picture of Ephraim! Yaaaay! I decided I wanted to draw a picture of him looking dramatic, from above, with lights and wind twining around him. And it worked! That’s the amazing part. My brother still hates this picture. I DUN CARE. The thing in his left hand is the Sacred Stone, and it’s supposed to be glowing. Perspective is a bit off on Reginleif, his lance… and I forgot his bracelet. But I’m still really happy with how this turned out. I think I used a reference for the face but I’m not sure about the rest of him. And somehow I seem to recall drawing this on vacation which was in August, but that could be a false memory.

Flight

"I can totally outfly those guys! Yeah, I can break Mach 3..."

“I can totally outfly those guys! Yeah, I can break Mach 3…”

Flairé, attempting to outfly a pair of fighter jets with his strap-on black wings. Which probably still aren’t big enough but whatever you get the point.

Wouldn’t that be fun?

Flairé: Yep. XD

Sleeping Angel

Sleeping in the music basement - a common pasttime, though not necessarily for angels.

Uhhhmmmm… this is a picture of a friend of mine that I got from a certain social networking website. So, drawn with a reference… didn’t stop his hair from coming out incredibly plasticy. And then I drew wings just for fun. I like wings. I should draw all my friends with wings and see what they look like. : D

Woot, Flairé shirt! I had to redraw the top of his head because it wasn’t high enough… When you make a race with long noses, it somehow shoves their eyes up higher than half-way up the head. Which is too high.

Note to Gullac: Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

Gullac: (with matches in hand) Awwwwwww……

The Angel Gabriel from heaven came

...His wings of drifted snow, his eyes of flame (sorta)

…His wings of drifted snow, his eyes of flame (sorta)

Wow, we’re less than a year behind! Exciting. Maybe. Anyway, this is a picture drawn based on the Christmas hymn of the same title. It’s an exotic image, wings of snow and eyes of flame. But my interpretation didn’t work this time. Well, maybe the wings worked sort of, but the eyes didn’t really work. Also his hair was supposed to be that curly Greco-Romanesque style hair, but you can’t really tell, can you. And his robe wasn’t supposed to look wrinkley, just drapey. Oh well. But it does sort of look like he’s glowing, which is good. I used colouring pencil all over this, even if you can’t tell apart from the eyes.

Today I remembered I have some basic colouring markers and I got the urge to start my Flairé T-shirt that I want to make. I drew the front image, which is based on this picture (bwahahaha), and coloured it and everything. Now I’m working on the back image which is a portrait of Flairé himself and the pencil sketch has turned out rather well. Now let’s see if the inking and colouring turns out well! (*is nervous*)

Renaitian, Gradonians, and Frelians

Sorry for not posting yesterday and for posting late today… was working on Ephraim’s Story Chapter 6 so that I could post the picture that went with it. But now it’s done, and I can turn my attention to other things. Like not re-reading Wayrift. <_< >_> Actually, I finished the second run through and yes, it made even more sense this time. (Love Tsu…) Anyway, this picture is of Ephraim hailing Duessel, from a little farther away than a ‘Talk’ command would cover, but it’s dramatic enough. Syrene/Vanessa/random pegasus knights are in the air. Stick figures are the rest of the Frelian army. Epic Ephraim is epic. Duessel is Duessel. Random knightly-dudes are Deussel’s random knightly-dudes. XD ‘Nuff said.

Fort Rigwald

As usual, today’s picture is down in the chapter; but today, there are two pictures! I drew an illustration for the beginning of the chapter and the end of the chapter. And for all that I couldn’t remember what people were talking about and I had to go and restart the game and play it again to find out. Oh, my background for the second one is laaaaame. The first one I don’t think is too bad, though.

I’ve been working on the last chapters of The Tactician and the Jewel (sooooo close!! Chapter 9 really is finished now and I’ve started the outline of Chapter 10) but I took some time out to write the Rigwald chapter. Bit rushed, perhaps, but it gets the plot across, yeah? I hope it’s not too boring. …You know, I have a scene in which the ‘hero’ of TTatJ’ is not present – and I discovered how much he overshadows everything. I got to spotlight some minor characters! Yay!

Ephraim Meets Syrene

A small sketch of where I (gasp) replace Seth and co. with Syrene!! (down here towards the end of the chapter)I think it makes sense, personally, and considering I already wrote Eirika’s Story and have most of the characters in there, especially Seth, I needed to use other characters to provide emphasis. I’m gonna miss Kyle and Forde, though. They were wasted on Eirika’s Story. But they needed to go with her. No more silly banter from the social knights, but Syrene is here to save the day! I like her. I pair her with Innes, though that’s probably so uncanon that people are shooting me dirty looks now. I’m not sure what to do with the other Frelians, though. I don’t find them the most interesting characters, actually. I’ll figure out something.

Renvall Rescue

Scroll down to find the picture somewhere in Chapter 3 of Ephraim’s Story. I forgot the horses! I guess I wasn’t confident enough to draw them. The left side of the page is a quick summary of what they say during that scene in the game. As you can see I didn’t follow it exactly. I find it’s smoother to read and less predictible to the reader that way. I mean, EVERYONE and their kitchen sink knows what Lyn says in the Prologue of Rekka no Ken in the game. Also it avoids what one fanfic author, through Erk, called RDOO’s: Random Displays of Obviousness.
