Glorfindel’s Stand

Killing blow

Killing blow

Glorfindel strikes down the evil Balrog! I think this picture is really cool, although the hero is just standing there and the path is empty of the hundreds of frightened refugees that should be there. I like his cloak, for one thing, and the eagles are not bad. That round thing is the moon. Glorfindel’s helmet got knocked off because I wanted to see his beautiful hair.

Elf archer costume

Faceless sniper man

Faceless sniper man

This picture must have been drawng AFTER I finished the elf archer costume mentioned above, since it follows pretty faithfully what I wore for Hallowe’en that year. Actually, yes, it does, because I made most of the costume the year before, in the guise of an elf knight. It was a Warhammer High Elf knight, the one from inside the front cover of the rulebook (that one’s really nice-looking). I made a white robe, and cardboard-and-foil armour that laced up with string, and even a cardboard helmet. This year, I took an interest in archery instead of spears – and I didn’t even make a spear – so I made a quiver out of wire and brown cloth, and a bow out of long pieces of bamboo from our bamboo windbreak on the deck, and also I got out the old raggedy cloak that was made from two pieces of gauzy curtain that Mom and Dad were going to throw away. Don’t laugh, this was all quite good for my skill level then! Also I had a white ribbon that I tied around my head a la Fiora. I looked pretty nerdy when I was done, but I was happy with it. Now, if I just had a pointy-ear-maker-mechanism…

Zela and Flair in tree beside inlet

Water, rocks, trees... perfect elf habitat

Water, rocks, trees… perfect elf habitat

A Zela picture with Zela in it! How rare!

This was drawn on holiday at my former piano teacher’s fishing resort. My dad did a webpage for her so she gave us a free package. So we invited my grandparents over and we all went fishing. Mom and Grandma and I all went together for an afternoon, and the next day Dad and Grandpa and my brother all went. Also some orcas swam through, which meant that we weren’t catching much.

But this has nothing to do with drawing a picture. The picture comes from the fact that there is absolutely gorgeous scenery around that resort, perfect for Zela. So, I drew her and her husband in an area that looks remarkably like the bay outside my window. I like her tunic dress. Flair is so very short. I miscalculated the page. Blah. I still like the picture, even if the artwork itself is mediocre.

Timeless Ocarina: Chapter 9: When is a Hero?

Chapter 8: The Door of Time     Chapter 10: Horse

Chapter 9: When is a Hero?

Link opened his eyes. He felt heavy. His gaze swirled around woozily, coming to rest on a large man on a golden platform.
Only then did Link take in his surroundings and realize that he himself was on a grey platform, surrounded by a small island of water, an isolated floating point in a vast darkness. Light and beautiful patterned waterfalls came from shadows above and fell to blackness below.
Directly in front of him stood the rather stout man; a man with rich red and gold robes and white hair and beard.
“Greetings, Hero of Time.”
Link, still partly asleep, blinked before he realized the man was speaking to him.
“I am Rauru, the Sage of Light.”
“Where are we?” asked Navi.
‘Thank goodness’, thought Link, ‘she’s still with me.’
“We are in the Temple of Light, in the Sacred Realm.”
Rauru’s even voice took on a gentle tone. “Link, look at yourself.” Continue reading

Reflection of the Future

Hey, that's me! But... what happened to my hair?

Hey, that’s me! But… what happened to my hair?

Today’s picture is very appropriate: Link III meets… Link III! This was when I just found out about Twilight Princess, and saw Link’s new look. Whoo. This picture uses symbolismmmmm (eerie voice) in that his reflection is different. There’s a lot more in it, with the outline of a pool and long grass in the background, but I left that out because it’s practically invisible. That upside down Link is a reflection, okay? …You might have to turn your head upside down to see the older (in age, newer in game) Link.

Marth Moves

Hu! He! Te!

Hu! He! Te!

This is from playing Super Smash Bros. Melee and deciding to try to learn to use a sword the same way as Marth, who appears quite proficient. Roy is good too, but I usually use Marth. I don’t really know why. Maybe it’s because I’ve heard that he is hated world-wide. Anyhow, this is his B-side chain (hold the control stick to the side and hit B repeatedly, and rhythmically enough to not degenerate into mashing which will break the chain). Read the moves from Right to Left, because he’s moving left, so that’s how I drew it. Also, his salute, his ‘taunt’, his pose, and he says something in Japanese which I have since learned is “Minna, miteite kure!” which is “Everybody, look at me!” ^_^ Gladly.
