Zela Bladedancer in colour

Glitter, glitter, little sword

Glitter, glitter, little sword

And now Zela in colour. Original here. The colour really brings out the proportional deficiencies, I think, but I also think the cloth at her waist looks really good for some reason. I had some trouble with layers and the multiply function… that’s why there are some white lines and some dark lines, instead of it all being just smooth. I guess I like the shiny sword a lot, though the hilt ought to be more detailed… I guess there’s only so much you can cram into those pixels. Also the hair is okay.

There’s so much I want to do right now! Photoshop painting, Ceniro movie, write Fire Emblem 7… I re-read as much of my story as is on here last night and I felt… I have up to Chapter 10 or so written, so why not put it up? Because it needs work, that’s why. Well, I’m going to work on Photoshop, I think.

Anne in colour

Doo doo de doo... swish swish... flap flap...

Doo doo de doo… swish swish… flap flap…

Ah, Anne. In colour! Original here. Ah, I did a sloppy job on the wings… but I still don’t know how to draw them. Anyway, I just tidied up a few details before posting it today, like the ear and the wing texture. As you can see I went crazy with the multiply function in Photoshop, though it is a tiny bit annoying that when you merge layers they either both become multiply or they both become normal… Didn’t really bother me here, though. And the bucket seems to have survived! Anyway, y’know, I think I actually prefer the pencil version – colour accentuates my mistakes/inaccuracies.

…Elf Montage

Waaaah... too many people! Elves from all over! ...and me.

Waaaah… too many people! Elves from all over! …and me.

One… last attempt to do Esgalwen, and it failed worse than ever. Then I drew the figures on the left, inspired by the song the lady sings in the bar on Outo World in Tsubasa… I still can’t remember her name anymore. Anyway, the bit where she stops and the girls’ choir starts is the bit that inspired me to imagine Flairé swinging me around in the air. Except I forgot my glasses again and he’s about a foot too tall. Then… I think I drew the one of Flairé with a little rock whizzing past his face (thrown by me ^_^7) and his shirt says “I LIKE PICKLES”. Squee! I think I drew Link next, and then Rana, and she turned out better than he did, and then I finished off with Legolas, who didn’t turn out too well, and Zela, looking especially grumpy.

Flairé

As I am pleased to meet you.

As I am pleased to meet you.

Flairéeeee!! A full length portrait and a little one of him bowing. I don’t know if I noticed this before, but his cloak is really nice in the first one. I mean, for my skill level. He’s got his shield and quiver on his back – he’s fully outfitted, except for food… and a knife would come in handy… and stuff… Second picture has good upper body positioning but everything else is pretty sloppy. Oh well, it wasn’t meant to be as good as the first one anyway.

Mirkwood Families

Hano! Let's go! We'll see the girls later.

Hano! Let’s go! We’ll see the girls later.

Whoohoo! A picture of Middle Earth! Well, of people in Middle Earth. Right-y, in the back, we have King Thranduil of the Mirkwood Elves, and his un-named wife (see closeup here). At least I can’t remember her name and I’m really too exhausted to look it up right now. The next couple, further to the right, are Esgalwen’s parents… can’t remember if I gave them names, either, and I probably didn’t write them down. Probably I didn’t give them names, as she would call them father and mother. Right in front of them are the three sisters, with the youngest on the left, with a mischievous look on her cute face, and then the gentle eldest, and then Esgalwen the shy middle on the right. She hasn’t gotten her necklace yet, either. The eldest’s head is too big. Esgalwen actually looks pretty good in this picture.

mirkfamdetailIn front are Legolas and Hano. Hano is the elder brother of the girls, and an archer under Legolas, who is an archery captain. Doesn’t that make sense? Various details are off, like ears on everyone, Legolas’ right arm, etc. Still, I mostly like this picture.

Marth and Sheeda II

The final sketch of yesterday’s picture. Marth’s face didn’t turn out so well as in the practice (isn’t it how that always is…) but if you want to see the little bit of it that I coloured – last month – here it is! The colours I was going to use were… Marth in his usual blue tunic, Sheeda in her usual red dress, Marth lying on a red blanket, and Sheeda lying on a wierd blue cloak thing with fluttery bits all over it. And then a green strip of grass in the middle.

Yay for blueheads?

Symmetry

Symmetry

This is a practice sketch of Marth and Sheeda lying on cloaks on a grassy lawn. They are not naked… I just left the clothes out of the picture. But they’re not naked.

This was going to be practice for a site redesign, but I decided not to use Marth and Sheeda mainly because they’re from Fire Emblem, which is a franchise not owned by me! So, while I was planning to do a graphic redesign for the whole site for whenever I posted the next picture (which might have been tomorrow!) I decided not to

Wet Catch

Plop

Plop

Hey! A picture that looks good again! And it’s of Link! Hmm…. coincidence?

Anyway, I like this picture because a) the anatomy mostly works, excepting the smallish hands, and b) Ruto looks fairly good, not just Mr. Hylian, and c) everything looks kinda wet because of all the water droplets! Which was kinda the point. Oh, Ruto has the wrong elbow fins, but that’s because I’m trying to achieve a balance between her depicted frilly decorative fins and the boomerangy fins that most Zoras have. And she can’t be too much physically different just because she’s a named character! Either that, or we never ever get to see female Zoras in Ocarina/Majora.

This is from Chapter 14 from Timeless Ocarina.
