Kickbutt McAwsum (a.k.a. Flairé)

*cue manic laughter and Leahy*

The logical next step for my new Christmas ’08 Art Pens was to draw Flairé!! I mean, combine them with my existing French-Greyscale art markers. I like these results, even if I still don’t know how to draw hands. Nice boots, I would say. And hair. His face is a little bit creepy, though. I decided I was tired of calling him Flairé all the time, so I titled this picture Kickbutt McAwsum. On second thought, that’s a silly name. I should have called it Kickbutt McAwsumpants. <3

Bob Christmas Fanart

Those potato peelers are HAWT. I mean, the potato peeler. Ahem. Yes.

Next up for the ’08 Christmas New Pen Fanart Spree was Bob, of True Magic. Lookin’ good there, Robert. : D I think I like his hair better like this instead of the thick, almost bushy mop that he has in the comic right now. But whatever. He’s still cute. (Joe is cuter at the moment, though… despite the trim.)

I tried doing the outside lines in a thicker pen. …It worked. I’d do it a bit differently now.

I’m in a TRIO. It has clarinet, horn, and piano, and so far we’re doing a wierd piece that was published using the composer’s manuscript (so, messy messy – but he does put accidentals in places that I approve) and it sounds jazzy which is kind of cool but WHAT THE HECK I’M IN A TRIO GUYS. It’s been too long since I did chamber music with multiple people.

LinT Christmas Fanart

Ambush! ...Wait, it's only Hope. Never mind!

Ambush! …Wait, it’s only Hope. Never mind!

This was the Christmas that my brother gave me inking pens!! I immediately tried them out by drawing Christmas presents for my favourite webcomics, starting with LinT. So Sangwine’s legs are a little short and the lines are rather sketchy. (I did use a pencil first, btw.) But that’s okay! I’m not sure what’s happening, but it’s supposed to be funny.

Hollas

Playing on a half size... you're doing it...?

Playing on a half size… you’re doing it pretty good…?

And this is Hollas, violinist virtuoso and composer extraordinare, as I saw him at one of the violin class recitals, I think. His hair was shiny and made me want to draw it. But I drew his violin much much too small and never got around to fixing it (hence the arrow that says ‘fix’). I drew the piano in the background, but it was too distracting so I removed it again. And it doesn’t really look like Hollas because I didn’t actually use a real-life reference. But it’s supposed to be Hollas.

Did I say that Kim has a fantastic cute haircut? Kim has a fantastic cute haircut.

Swirly Ephraim

Swirly Ephraim is swirly

Swirly Ephraim is swirly

This is a picture of Ephraim! Yaaaay! I decided I wanted to draw a picture of him looking dramatic, from above, with lights and wind twining around him. And it worked! That’s the amazing part. My brother still hates this picture. I DUN CARE. The thing in his left hand is the Sacred Stone, and it’s supposed to be glowing. Perspective is a bit off on Reginleif, his lance… and I forgot his bracelet. But I’m still really happy with how this turned out. I think I used a reference for the face but I’m not sure about the rest of him. And somehow I seem to recall drawing this on vacation which was in August, but that could be a false memory.

Flight

"I can totally outfly those guys! Yeah, I can break Mach 3..."

“I can totally outfly those guys! Yeah, I can break Mach 3…”

Flairé, attempting to outfly a pair of fighter jets with his strap-on black wings. Which probably still aren’t big enough but whatever you get the point.

Wouldn’t that be fun?

Flairé: Yep. XD

Sleeping Angel

Sleeping in the music basement - a common pasttime, though not necessarily for angels.

Uhhhmmmm… this is a picture of a friend of mine that I got from a certain social networking website. So, drawn with a reference… didn’t stop his hair from coming out incredibly plasticy. And then I drew wings just for fun. I like wings. I should draw all my friends with wings and see what they look like. : D

Woot, Flairé shirt! I had to redraw the top of his head because it wasn’t high enough… When you make a race with long noses, it somehow shoves their eyes up higher than half-way up the head. Which is too high.

Note to Gullac: Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

Gullac: (with matches in hand) Awwwwwww……

The Angel Gabriel from heaven came

...His wings of drifted snow, his eyes of flame (sorta)

…His wings of drifted snow, his eyes of flame (sorta)

Wow, we’re less than a year behind! Exciting. Maybe. Anyway, this is a picture drawn based on the Christmas hymn of the same title. It’s an exotic image, wings of snow and eyes of flame. But my interpretation didn’t work this time. Well, maybe the wings worked sort of, but the eyes didn’t really work. Also his hair was supposed to be that curly Greco-Romanesque style hair, but you can’t really tell, can you. And his robe wasn’t supposed to look wrinkley, just drapey. Oh well. But it does sort of look like he’s glowing, which is good. I used colouring pencil all over this, even if you can’t tell apart from the eyes.

Today I remembered I have some basic colouring markers and I got the urge to start my Flairé T-shirt that I want to make. I drew the front image, which is based on this picture (bwahahaha), and coloured it and everything. Now I’m working on the back image which is a portrait of Flairé himself and the pencil sketch has turned out rather well. Now let’s see if the inking and colouring turns out well! (*is nervous*)

Renaitian, Gradonians, and Frelians

Sorry for not posting yesterday and for posting late today… was working on Ephraim’s Story Chapter 6 so that I could post the picture that went with it. But now it’s done, and I can turn my attention to other things. Like not re-reading Wayrift. <_< >_> Actually, I finished the second run through and yes, it made even more sense this time. (Love Tsu…) Anyway, this picture is of Ephraim hailing Duessel, from a little farther away than a ‘Talk’ command would cover, but it’s dramatic enough. Syrene/Vanessa/random pegasus knights are in the air. Stick figures are the rest of the Frelian army. Epic Ephraim is epic. Duessel is Duessel. Random knightly-dudes are Deussel’s random knightly-dudes. XD ‘Nuff said.

Ephraim’s Story: Chapter 6: Turning Traitor

Chapter 5: Fort Rigwald     Chapter 7: Phantom Ship

    Chapter 6: Turning Traitor

We rode south the next two days, passing through the hills of the Grado Highlands. On the third day we approached the port town of Bethroen, which, if we could charter a ship, would take the army directly to the main highway out of Tai’zel on the southern coast to Grado Keep. On the second day, the earthquakes started. Grado was usually rocked by earthquakes every once in a while.

Vanessa, scouting the third morning, brought us the layout of the terrain and confirmed that it was the same as our maps.

“Bethroen Port is a pair of small islands connected by bridges to the mainland,” she reported. “The main road we’re on runs straight there. On the western island are the town and the docks. On the eastern island is a fortress, I think to protect against pirates.”

“And probably us, too,” I commented a little drily.

“To the north of the town is another village only a mile away.”

“That probably won’t figure into our plans,” Syrene said contemplatively. “Did you see any enemy units?”

“No, ma’am! There either are no opposing forces, or they’re still in the fortress.”

“Better suppose they’re in the fortress,” I said. “It’s highly unlikely they’ve not figured out where we’re going; Rigwald pointed our direction clearly enough. We’ll move in quickly, but cautiously.”

“Right away, sir,” Syrene said, saluting, and went off to make preparations to move out.

I rubbed a hand over my face and clapped my hands together, stretching as I got up. “Good work, Vanessa.”

    “Thank you, milord!” Continue reading
