Actually, this picture could be called 'Crimson and Seafoam Green', but close enough.

Elinian fanart!!! (Eliwood/Ninian) First time in a long time, huh? Anyway, I drew this listening to the Enya Christmas song Stars and Midnight Blue. At least, it’s sort of wintry. And it’s on her Christmas CD. It’s more a love song than a Christmas song. Doesn’t matter, anyway. I made the picture wintry, and Ninian’s still in her bare-shoulders outfit because she’s half dragon and doesn’t care about the cold anyway.

Recovering from sick. And I found an RPG maker. Some sort of software called Sphere. Haven’t downloaded it yet; planning to wait until Christmas holidays. I think I should try turning The Tactician and the Jewel into a real RPG. Which is finished, by the way. That would be cool!

So, yeah, The Tactician and the Jewel is done, and will be posted starting tomorrow. Huzzah!

ranaavatarThis is based on the Eliwood/Lyn ending shot from Blazing Sword, and it’s a great picture, except Eliwood and Ninian is slightly more palatable to me, so I replaced Lyn with Ninian. (Lyn goes with Hector) It didn’t turn out so well. Well, Eliwood looks good from the waist up, I suppose.

portrait3I drew this picture because the picture at the end of the game with an Eliwood/Ninian pairing makes poor old Eliwood look kind of… wierd. My picture is not much better. Drat. Then I drew something sappy in the top left corner because I had extra space. Should let you know that Ninian seems to have shrunk in that one and that I’m not good at drawing kisses.

I had to show Kevin how to beat the heart-shaped square board with two statues puzzle. In return, he helped me with a fiddly bit of plot in Timeless Ocarina. It will manifest itself in the next four chapters or so. First we have to get through the Gerudos! Aaaah!

Yeah, my dad is in a lot of pain and my mom’s in a 10K race on Sunday, I think, but he’s not going after all even though he wanted to. It’s rather worrying.

I played my Mozart well today. I also went to the concerto class and I don’t know what I want to learn for next year - Shostakovich or Ravel?

New TO, in which Link is lamely held by bandits. Yeah. It’s my worst chapter yet. So dull. Any suggestions? More character interaction? But there are no main characters aside from Link and Navi, who have to be quiet, and the carpenters are stupid, and the Gerudos are all hostile. So, no talking… no scenery… little action… I was going to say ‘maelstrom’ at the end, but that’s only used for sea storms, isn’t it?

esgalwenavatarThis picture is the counterpart to this picture, and based on another Enya song: On Your Shore from the Watermark CD. You see, I played through the game the first time without getting any supports (though I broke down and supported Eliwood and Hector to C at the Shrine of Seals level because the ’support’ option in the menu was bugging me) and then Ninian left for her otherworld home (well, she died first, and I cried for two days because Nergal was so evil and Ninian was so good). So, I wondered, if she was in love with Eliwood, how did they get a happy ending? How was Roy born?
The obvious answer is… Eliwood married someone else. But that couldn’t be! Of all the Fire Emblem games I have played, Blazing Sword is the one with the most obvious pairings - or at least with the ones I’m most set in (Wil and Florina, for example). So Ninian had to marry him somehow.

So, that’s why I drew this picture. I made up a story where Ninian can’t bear being seperated from Eliwood anymore and tells her brother Nils to seal the Dragon’s Gate behind her; she’s going back to the Elibe world. And she doesn’t swim from Valor Isle - where the Dragon’s Gate is - to Elibe, either… some boat comes along since Eliwood and Hector and Lyn started publishing the fact that the island is NOT cursed. On the left is her exiting the front door of the Dragon’s Gate, and the middle is her on the sea shore of Valor Isle, and the one on the right is her meeting Eliwood in the garden of Castle Pherae.

Explanation of ‘Supporting’: If two characters stand next to each other (or, in FE9, fight in the same battle) for many turns (or many battles) the option to ’support’ will come up in their action menus. Selecting this will make them talk to each other, revealing back-story or building character, and will also give them a slight combat bonus when they’re standing within three map squares of each other. This is quite beneficial when two characters have talked to each other three times (C support, B support, and lastly A support). Each character have have a total of five conversations. Pent and Louise come automatically supported to A level, so each of them can only have two more conversations. Afterwards, if they fall in love, they get married in the epilogue.

So Eliwood and Ninian can now have a happy ending that makes sense, and no laws are broken in doing so.

I went to an open orchestra rehearsal, and they played Beethoven, Haydn, and J.C. Bach, which made me happy.

Also, I listened to my Allens Parsons Project MD, and the last song Old and Wise made me want to make a CG music video of it, but my gmax (a 3D program) skills aren’t nearly good enough, so for now I’m going to stick with finishing Lyn’s next sentance in my more easily animated movie: “Who are you?” 10 letters. Probably 10 minutes. Then Ceniro can start talking! Cool!

gauthav2Um… I tried to draw a bunch of Fire Emblem heroes from memory, without much success. I cringe at the extended arms and shortened legs… and the terrible, terrible expressions. I’m not sure how I was hoping such a scribble would end up a masterpiece. Sometimes I do that…

L-R: Marth, Eliwood, Roy Ninian, Nils.

Ninian’s dress looks nice, though.

That new Gauthicus avatar is because Aja draws incredibly gorgeous pages. I couldn’t resist…

Um, I was going to say something constructive here, but no go, so I’ll just get to the next page and try to catch up. Whoo!
