Biography: Flaer is the first-born son of Flar and Stialia of the Moon-land. Born while the kalmaeirin civilizaton was still composing itself, he was a dynamic figure in the construction of the capital of the Moon-land. Only after it was completed did he venture out into the lands around the city. Wandering through the forest to the north of the kingdom, he met Zela and over time fell in love with her. They were married and had a total of seven children.
When war came, Flaer was prepared, having seen the signs, and he and his father Flar were both active in the defense of their side. Flaer tried many diplomatic sallies, and when those failed, became the unwilling commander of an army. He and Zela worked in tandem throughout the war, not merely because they loved each other, but because they also worked well together.
Afterwards, he withdrew to a small outpost city and became the chieftain of the survivors.
Personality: Flaer began life as a set of conflicting opposites. His innate gentleness was always at odds with his ability as a leader, and in his youth he was very popular as a speaker. Over time he managed to reconcile these parts of himself and still strives to be the perfect compassionate leader and father. When war came, though prepared, he was devastated since he never believed that the kalmaei would sink so low. He will bend graciously to others wishes, up to a point, but underneath the politeness is a will as strong as steel. He and his wife have had more than a few arguments due to their personalities. Despite his inner strength, his constant optimism was beaten down over time and today, though the war was ‘won’, he seems an outwardly expressionless husk. Inside, his emotions are as powerful as ever, but they can only be glimpsed through his eyes. He is a perfect gentleman and loves all that is good and beautiful in the world dearly, especially his wife and children.
