I returneth!!!!
Alrighty, the news since I last posted here… oh, the picture? I read Robin Hood, by Paul Creswick, illustrated by N.G. Wyeth, again. I think it’s a very good novelization/adaptation/whatever you want to call it. There are several people whose first name is William, though, and Will Stutely Robin’s right hand is chief among them in this book. I imagine he’s quite the cutie, but unfortunately this attempt at un-referenced realism, especially with the mussed black hair, failed.
News… I watched The Matrix, of course not without my brave and manly best friend who’d seen it before but didn’t give away anything except what I asked beside me… Very good effects, interesting plot, no chemistry between Trin and Neo AT ALL… good gunfight at the end, though.
Very Important: I got a summer job as a dishwasher at a local bakery. That’s partly why I haven’t been updating… because I have been working a good portion of the day and practicing piano in the rest. My pieces are getting quite learned in the notes. Um.
I’M GETTING A PRACTICE ORGAN WOOT! I mean, yay! I went to an organ concert at Christ Church this weekend and it was FANTASTIC. Buxtehude something about Morning Star choral prelude, I think, and a Biblical sonata by Kuhnau, and Bach Fantastia and Fugue in G- (yaaay) and Final of Vierne’s Symphony #1 and Chant de Paix and Chant de Joie by Langlais… EEEE it was great! And Christ Church has a beautiful new Wolff organ. Yup. This is the second time I heard it.
What else is new? Ummm…. I was a sub at a local church for three weeks… My brother and I tested Star Wars Galaxies and it’s not something we’d pay $15 a month for… My friends are all very busy… One of them went to a ukulele festival! It sounded pretty cool! And that was after his two week trip to England. Another is going to CYMC jazz… apparently there’s no Classical Orchestra this year! What gives, Thomas? Then L is just staying home practicing (I’m finally getting my practicing more in line with what it should be, and she’s so busy she hardly has time to talk, and worries about her practicing suffering… Les, you should relax a bit! You’re already in Performance!) and there are a few other friends who I haven’t talked to in a little while, or not since school ended in April-ish… I should change that. Oh, and another friend has a band that is going to change its name for some reason. I don’t know. Do you people think The Vista is a good name? I also borrowed some 3 Investigators books from the local library (they only have 11 of them…) and also Dinotopia, the two original books, for my brother. He hasn’t read them. Now he has, and he still thinks little of them, but at least he’s read them. On the other hand, the Sherlock Holmes series with Jeremy Brett in the title role is going to be on TV throughout July and August! Yay!
Oh! Oh! I discovered (through Colby of LinT) a blog called The Lazy Organizer. And if you are disorganized or want inspiration to clean up your room go there because the Lazy will get you inspired within reading a few posts. I cleaned up my room and organized my closet… I need to reorganize my shelves, but other than that I’m pleased with my progress so far… I found and worked on a whole bunch of craft things! I finished, for example, an embroidery project that I’ve had about ten years. A, that’s one of the things I forgot to show you last time… I know I showed you the picture of the little Kalma’eiric children (that I adore to pieces btw, don’t know if I mentioned that) but I didn’t show you the 3D stuff. Next time!
Also the Tall Ships Festival was here this weekend and it’s dreadfully hot out. I also finished scanning ALL my pictures up until now, and that’s another reason I took so long to update.
Flairé has also been very active in the world, but I can’t remember any of the stories he’s told me. Something about Independance Day (still haven’t watched it, just so you know) and something about terrorizing an evil person in a school, and of course lots and lots of dancing.
