pentlouiseicon An old picture I forgot to post. Ummmm… this is one of my violinist friends, a young fellow named Thomas… he likes skiing and cars as well. The set-up from this picture came from Star Wars: Battlefront II, in which one of the 501st troopers says in his diary that Lord Vader… used his Force powers… to find out where the missing Death Star plans were?? I don’t even remember what the wording was, but suffice to say it sounded pretty dubious. The Force doesn’t ‘locate’ inanimate objects. I’m pretty sure. So, in this totally hypothetical situation, I’m making fun of Darth Vader and Thomas, my audience, is rather distracted by my imminent demise. And yeah, I’m flapping my hands around my head like bunny ears or something. I don’t know. It’s my ”I’m Darth Vader and I’m crazy!” moves. That makes no sense. But it makes me laugh. So it stays. I’m pretty happy with this picture cause Vader is recognisable! Thomas isn’t, but that’s my fault. It looks pretty good coloured, too, though I just did a quick job.

Arrrrgh, almost beat the last chapter of Part II of Fire Emblem 10 yesterday, and then stupid rebel boy just has to up and attack Geoffrey (who is still awesome). Pickles. I got through ten whole turns, too. Well, tomorrow’s strategy will be smarter. I won’t leave defenseless people in positions where they can be attacked (had some early close calls, including an injured (transformed) Lethe who was saved by having (untransformed) Mordecai come and act as bait. I was sooooo close! And I think there’s an awesome CG cut-scene after this chapter! Oh, and Elincia is also awesome, especially with that Amiti sword. And Haar is awesome because he soaks up and deals out awesomedamage. It would be nice to have a few more mages and archers in that final level, but I suppose I’ll get Rolf and Soren soon enough. The Greil Mercenaries have been out of the game for so long they have to show up soon! And Ike. Whoohoo. And Oscar. I hope Reyson comes too. He’s a great character, that acid-mouthed (and gorgeous) heron princeling.

Started working on my next RnK story… first chapter is underway. Still working on the association map, but I know the plot now. It’s fairly simple from the outside. I hope it’s not so simple once I get into it. Heeheehee.

(Later…:) Finished association map but stayed up way too late to do it. And I know the plot in great detail now, for the first half, at least, but I forgot to give everybody motives for all their actions. I better do that. And I have bosses for all the levels. My map is a giant tangle of criss-crossing lines connection everyone and sundry.

Did I have anything important to say? No? Oh, well, I fought a LotR battle with my brother this week and managed to scrape a draw. I was Rohan and he was Isengard and he made a pretty nice table setup. Other than that, no.

One important note, though; people I don’t know keep commenting on various pictures… Would you please not leave generic comments? Generic comments from people I don’t know get deleted because I don’t like spam and I suspect generic-comments-from-people-I-don’t-know of being spam. If you can convince me that a) you’re human and b) you actually care about my site, then I’ll gladly put your comments up and welcome to you. Otherwise they go in the deletion bin. Thanks!

luthieniconHere’s Thomas, my wonderful violinist friend: quiet, nice guy, beautiful violin sound, and he likes basketball, skiing, and sports cars as well. I managed to draw him while he was watching some other people at CYMC play cards in the school foyer. This was his first year at CYMC, and I wish he’d started before (just I think his teacher wouldn’t let him, and he did say he found it gruelling even this year with all the quick learning). He also, along with Ben and Anthony, helped me perform the first movement of my quartet! By the way, I finished the expo of the third movement, so that should be skimming the e-mail channels pretty soon.

And perhaps I ought to say that this is supposed to be Thomas. It really only vaguely resembles him. He has brown hair, and I think grey eyes.

I’m getting good at running, I think, despite the fact that it’s rather hot out! I ran even more than yesterday and I felt just as untired. The temperature… it’s about 21 or 22 degrees outside (inside it’s 25 right now) and that’s not counting the sun or the wind. Today I didn’t pause so long by the duck pond, so I didn’t bother getting the ‘peaceful moment’ thing like yesterday, and my internal MD player kept going – it’s doing the Passepied from Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque, which I played this morning. Right now it’s doing the Minuet of the same source. Also, I met someone walking his dog at one point and then I met him again 2/3 -3/4 of the way around, so I went quite fast!

And I’m getting pretty certain that people are looking at me. I guess I look good. Now I just need to keep my face from turning red (read ‘purpley’) with heat.

I’ve stuck up a bunch of new chapters of Eirika’s story; I’d like to point out (if I haven’t already) that it’s completely unedited from the first typing, and also that a lot of the beginning text is lifted straight from the game: I had not yet gotten into the habit of making the story ‘my own’ besides the pairings and little deviations and descriptions and things. I began doing this later on in the story, about past Port Kiris or something. So it’s not the greatest story, but it improves imperceptibly towards the end. Also I have to make a small change near the end, and at this moment, I can’t remember what it is… I hope it comes back as I think it made sense.

bruineniconThis is a sketch of Thomas, my violin friend, at CYMC, playing with a basketball. Very quick, no detail, as it was in real life.

But this means we got to CYMC of 2005!

Yesterday was dull in terms of things to write about. I like Zelda snowboarding. I get to learn the rest of lovely Suite Bergamasque. I think my favourite composers are French Impressionistic, not Romantic as I thought.
