rinakoavatarUm, I guess I felt like drawing Fire Emblem 9 people. Imaginary cookies to people who can identify everyone of the Greil Mercenaries, and the Laguz in the back. Hints: the person lying on the ground has ‘hungry’ written over her, like so:

Hungry

Hungry

So she must be Ilyana. ^_^7 Then the crazy hawk is Janaff. And Mia is not recognizable, but she’s next to Rhys. Reyson is the bird in the middle in the back in the sky.

That was fun, even if I somehow came out with scribbly good guys. (unheard of, huh?)
I can’t remember what happened Tuesday. I probably went to choir and had a FANTASTIC TIME. As usual. Oh, and I believe Leslie and Michael G were both amenable, as of this date (Sep 25) to practice choir stuff on our own sometime. (As of today Oct 11 we actually did practice. More on that later) Michael M is in first choir, so the Vaughen Williams would have been a lost cause. I don’t think I know any second basses, though I think I might know a second alto.

watermonstericonAt last, I got down to business and traced Soran from the original art. And he looks much better. As in, this is the way he is supposed to look. Yay, Soren!

And this is basically the last you’ll see of him from me. -_-7

Last chapter of MoDttIoD is almost done, really. I just have two more pages to write, and then I’ll be done. It would have been done yesterday but I ran out of inspiration and stamina. That means that I got to a point and then it sounded more like an outline than a story and I knew I was losing it. I need to rewrite at least half a page. It will be up tomorrow.

I’m leaving for organ camp on Saturday, so there will probably be no update Saturday, and then none for the next ten days after that. I may not re-post those days, but carry on as normal, like I wasn’t there to update in real life, so you’re not getting catch-ups. You may be stuck with a super-stupid picture for the whole of next week, or you might get a meaningful picture. It depends whether I have time on Saturday or not.

I also am half-way through HoME Book 10, and there was supposed to be an epilogue at the end of RotK, but people said it didn’t fit so Tolkien left it out. Too bad, because Elanor was cute. And there’s a nice big chunk of Tengwar, so maybe I’ll practice reading it. Although it doesn’t start out very promising… there’s an L-rune on one that doesn’t correspond to the transcription in Roman…

Mom’s reading my Glenn Gould book, and likes it a lot.

It’s pretty rainy out this week!

longshipiconThis picture was done from a reference: the artwork of Soren that I was basing it on. It’s still pretty terrible. That’s why I gave up on this one.

The Tour de France is cool. We’re watching it. I’m cheering for the Astania team. The guys in light blue. The one with the guy with stitches in both knees.
Oh! Oh! Some idiot let his dog run on the road, and it crashed into a biker. How stupid.

We won against the orcs. My lady didn’t get off another spectacular flare, but at the end of turn six, the only things left of the orcs were four Spear Chukkas with only two and a half with crew remaining, and two or three orcs in combat with Kevin’s paladins.

And we went and I picked out a colour for my room. It’s annoying. So I know the shade I want, but what’s the difference between a more blue-green sage and a silver-green sage? I just picked one, since they’re all pretty similar.

sainsaliralaniconAnd thus began my quest to find out how Soren dressed. Which failed miserably in the ‘by memory’ category. I’m going on the neat artwork that appears in the opening video of the game. And they show Soren with green swirlies around him because the Wind spell makes green wind. Anyway, this picture is a write-off, it’s so bad, and so is tomorrow’s for a similar reason.

I actually have an extra week to write quartets in! I’ll finish the piano part this afternoon, if I’m not doing anything crazy… I have an organ lesson this morning and this afternoon I have to finish my Warhammer game with Kevin and I’m hoping Mom and Dad will take me out to pick a paint colour for my room. They’ve been saying they’ll paint it soon, and saying soon means “while I’m away at camp so I come back and find a beautiful finished room - and they won’t have a nut sleeping on the couch”. Ah, well, if that doesn’t happen, that’s all right. I can survive in my strange brown room for another few years.

Oh, yeah! Warhammer! It’s kind of a neat battle Kevin set up. It’s allied High Elves and Brets vs. Orcs. So far, we are winning. Eee, yes, my sorceress cast Conflagration of Doom on a biiiig unit with two characters in it (about 600 points worth - my girl was worth 185, to put things in perspective) and it went off, and then I just kept rolling sixes. “Does it go out?” “I rolled a six, so unless you roll a six too, it doesn’t.” “How many hits?” “I rolled a six!” “No armour save!” “I rolled a six!” (repeat?)
So, in the end, I took out about ten guys or something, and filled the remainder full of bolts from my TWO bolt throwers, and then the remainder RAN AWAY!!!! Run away from the scary elf-girl with super fire-power!
Idril: I’m a pyro?
And then I turned my attention to the Black Orcs right behind them and wiped them out, too. So far, there’s just two guys - a character and the unit champion - running towards my Dragon Princes (represented by milky white (primed) horses). We’ve only just begun turn three. He still has three units of orcs and one of trolls and two goblin shamans and some “Spear Chukkas” left. No sweat. 3/4 of our armies haven’t even done anything yet.

ravenandcoiconThe first picture in a new category! Fire Emblem 9: Trail of Blue Flames is the latest Fire Emblem (soon to be superceded by Fire Emblem 10: Goddess of Dawn) and the last one for Gamecube. By this time I had figured out that, Eliwood notwithstanding, Fire Emblem characters try to be named with real names. Some of the names may not be exactly common, (L’Arachel, Lyndis, Ephraim, Elincia), some of them may be as ordinary as Kyle, Wil(l), Priscilla (apparently the easiest-to-misspell-name-in-the-universe), Joshua, Natasha…

Anyway, this is a perfectly loony picture. Soren, the withdrawn mage, and Charlotte, a very young OC with a troubled past (orphaned and kidnapped by bandits, etc.) are watching Reyson and Leanne (go, heron-folks!) restore their (the herons’) anscestral home of Serenes Forest from a grey, withered mess into a lush jungle. Reyson has the greatest voice. The restored forest is on the left, and they’re watching the golden lights - the scratchy, squiggly things behind them in this picture - head off into the distance on the right, leaving restored forest behind it. Those golden lights move quickly, you know. You can see my version of the galdr here.

This is about the only picture Charlotte appears in because she’s not a very important character, even to me. She has dark blue hair and blue eyes. I think. I’m not sure. Basically all she’s good for is being a sort of Ike-Ilyana combo - good at drawing Soren out in the same way that Ike does, and having an Ilyana-ish personality - sans ravenous hunger. She acts as Soren’s shy, little-seen servant. By her own choosing. Because Soren doesn’t bother taking care of himself. He’s pretty thrifty. He’s had his own troubled past. And I didn’t know yet how to draw his clothes. He has black hair and red eyes, if you don’t know him.
