The cover to Book 1 of my Fire Emblem 7: Rekka no Ken fanfiction. Not my best work, but it started out really sketchy, and then I got serious, and then I got bored. It’s kind of random, just some people posing. Not inspired like the other one. So it’s really only here as a concept. Blah. Lyn’s Legion, GO!

I’ll do a better job of this someday. Maybe. If I feel like it. ; )

As it is Remembrance Day, have some beautiful poetry.

<NERD TIME> This morning, my D&D group got together… we’re millimetres from finishing the story arc, but we really only had time to finish the boss battle and then RUN home literally to get ready for the concert this afternoon. It was a good concert, although afterwards everyone made a fuss about how good I was to have covered for one person’s missed entrance that I forgot she missed by three bars later. : P Anyway, so we got back to the town that had weird-type zombies in it, and the DM’s older brother whom we’d never met before played the main NPC, which was awesome. (They have a very similar playing style, though E paces more than C and seems to have swallowed the rulebook a la Hermione.) And we found the boss, which was an evil cleric and a devil she summoned, and Myra and Torrigan (our cleric and paladin) took on the devil while Kellan and Illinia (our rogue and druid) took on the evil cleric. Kellan found the invisible cleric by running into her, and then the NPC wizard stopped her going out the door even with his old-man-STR 7, but then she got away, and the wizard ran after her and she knocked him out, and Illinia ran after to keep the wizard from dying, but then SHE GOT KILLED. Evil cleric rolled a critical on ‘Drain Life’ or something. So then Myra our good cleric got really mad, criticaled for max damage on the devil, and ran outside to help, where Illinia had been resurrected as a zombie by the cleric and forced to attack the rogue. So Myra dropped Illinia with Turn Undead, and someone got the evil cleric. Oh, and the paladin healed the wizard.

Fortunately, the zombie-healing potion we went away from the town for also resurrected Illinia in a normal fashion, so she’s back in action. I think. She’ll have some questions for the cleric when she gets past the dumbfounded stage, though. </NERD TIME>

So all that was just to say I feel like drawing a comic about our adventures sometime. Maybe Saturday morning, when I’m travelling. Though someone needs to email me back about all that because we still have planning to do!

I felt like drawing people this day (17 August), so I started with Link, on the previous page, but he turned out rather creepy so you don’t get to see him. I think I was trying to draw his eyes like I observed them in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Which are purdy purdy. Anyway, then I gave up on trying to be better and just drew same-old same-old anime style. I tried to draw Marth (top left) and failed, but then I drew him again (top right) and it turned out better. Though with a bit too much angst, I think. Then I drew Esgalwen, and she came out well, though she and Flaria are disappointingly similar. Then I drew Roy, and he’s not the greatest, but whatever. And then Sain and Salir, because I haven’t for a while! Then I finished off with good ol’ Ceniro. Not my best portrait of him either, but whatever.

So… sick… Bleh. This week’s updates prepared beforehand so they should be a little more regular.

I played the Wayrift RPG, anyway. It was highly entertaining, although the flying fish got a little annoying after a while. Now I want to make my Zela RPG… not gonna happen, though. Piano! (runs)

Oh, and I also watched The Brain That Wouldn’t Die MST3K style on Sunday. It was pretty pathetic. And I got more comments on the fact that Adhemlenei is complicated to navigate, for some reason, so I’m redoing the About page. But no one can find it, even though it’s RIGHT THERE IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER, so I need to make it more obvious somehow. Ummmm…

wilflorinaiconWell! Here is Ceniro, and he’s just going to make me squeal with delight, because I always like it when he shows up. In this picture, he’s actually journeying with Eliwood, but Lyn took time out for ‘Lyn’s Legion’, the Original, to get together, so there’s Florina, the little figure on the left, Wil sitting between her and Lyn, Lyn waving her sword with rather long arms… and Kent and Sain, who are too far away to tell apart. And their loyal friendly tactician is sitting under a tree a short distance away, just enjoying the fact that they’re there again, and not even looking at his Gam- farseer. Seriously, it’s not a Gameboy. Really. It has buttons and stuff, but they’re not Gameboy buttons. Actually, the latest design has no buttons. I figured that would be beyond the imagination of medieval spellsmiths. It might have had levers, but its designer thought those would maybe catch on things and just generally be too unwieldy. So it has a purely magic interface. Now, at least.

Anyway, this picture is wholly uncanon, as Lyn would never steal the tactician very far away from the army when the world is in jeopardy. And Lyn’s Legion ought to include Erk, Serra, Matthew, Rath, Wallace, Nils, Ninian, and Lucius, regardless of the fact that they joined after Sain and Wil coined the title. So… this picture is not very realistic, but… Ceniro is my squeezy! Or something. (*Ceniro leaves hastily*) I wonder where he’s going. Probably afraid for his life. Oh well.

Yay background!

Two more days of work! Actually, I was less tired at work yesterday. Just as tired walking home from it, though. I attribute all the energy to Vancouver and all the tiredness to not sleeping enough. It’s fixing, though! Really! I got lots of sleep last night.

laughsessiconSorry to put something this silly on the front page, but this is the last page in my mini-sketchbook. I don’t know if it overlaps with my next big sketchbook, but I don’t care right now. I will have minis up tomorrow. It’s a close up of Sain from the Fire Emblem Alan Parsons Project Band!

I am a very happy (and sleepy) person! For one thing, Aja sent me some art! It’s gorgeous! For another thing, I played in my teacher’s piano student recital, and everyone played wonderfully, and several of my friends came to see me!

More talking tomorrow, hopefully!

elrondandgaladrieliconUm? I think I started with the picture in the top left (of course) and I’m sorry part of it got cut of, but I don’t have a big enough scanner. Do you think she’s too curvy? I’m uncertain. The shading does look nice, but after all the trouble I went to to stress that elves were not curvy but very thin and straight and lean it seems a little wierd. Anyhow, her face looks wierd but her boots are good.

The one at top right may be a bit confusing at first, with all those arms and legs, but just keep looking. It’s rather small, but it’s Flaer giving Zela a hug while she’s sleeping (and he’s preparing to go to sleep himself). And they are wearing clothes.

Then I tried to do a picture of Sain and Salir but I was discouraged by the start so I gave up.

Then the guy in the bottom right was drawn, and he looks really good the other way up too. I wish his scalp wasn’t so visible, but his face is really handsome. I guess it’s Flairé.
Flairé: Well, I look a lot more buff than the last half-undressed picture you did of me.
Is that a good thing?
Flairé: … … …Yes.
Then I tried to do two more, one in a similar but different position (which turned out terribly ugly) and one of the original only ‘right side up’ which is not visible unless you turn it right side up… but it didn’t work so well.

The rest of the page is designs for Tuor’s cloak. You remember, the guy I was griping about earlier in the year that he never got done? He’s done now, but he’d been waiting for about six months. The coloured bit is one that I painted in gold just to see if I could do it. I ended up not using that design.

Hmm, today we had a test. My hands were shaking so hard! I just had to write about ligatures and rhythmic modes and Franco de Cologne, and I could hardly hold my pen. My theory teacher really liked my variation, and he gave me some others to play in class on Friday. Also apparently I managed to get Michael G. out of French class because I phoned his cell… I’m a little hazy on the details, but I think I did something I didn’t intend to (there is a reason I phoned in between class periods…). Anyway, sorry Michael! This afternoon, I had interesting talks with Alex and Nathan and both Michaels, and I put up concerts [edit: I meant posters] to a Hallowe’en organ concert I’m playing in. Michael M. is going to a concert in Vancouver so he might not come. Alex is doing a rather interesting percusion piece. It’s probably not very interesting to listen to, but it’s interesting to look at. It’s by our composition teacher. I’m also trying to put Respighi (Ancient Airs and Dances!) on my MD (since Michael G. claims he doesn’t know who he is! O_O7) but it keeps dying. Silly rechargable battery. I might have singing people over to my house on the weekend? I’m looking forward to that if it happens. If it doesn’t, well, maybe just Leslie can come, since she’s definitely interested.

Aristotle claims that modesty is not a virtue since he associates it with shame, not mere embarrassment and humility. Bad, bad Aristotle. He should be ashamed. Well, he does say that you can’t call people licentious who take an inordinate amount of pleasure in listening to music, which is good news for musicians! I, in particular, am taking an unhealthy amount of pleasure in “Balletto detto ‘Il Conte Orlando’” and “Laura soave: balletto con gagliarda, saltarello e canario”. As well as in music in general. Musicians are terrific, you know? And the people I talked to today are really great.
