portrait3Hey! A picture that looks good again! And it’s of Link! Hmm…. coincidence?

Anyway, I like this picture because a) the anatomy mostly works, excepting the smallish hands, and b) Ruto looks fairly good, not just Mr. Hylian, and c) everything looks kinda wet because of all the water droplets! Which was kinda the point. Oh, Ruto has the wrong elbow fins, but that’s because I’m trying to achieve a balance between her depicted frilly decorative fins and the boomerangy fins that most Zoras have. And she can’t be too much physically different just because she’s a named character! Either that, or we never ever get to see female Zoras in Ocarina/Majora.

This is from Chapter 14 from Timeless Ocarina.

In other news, of which there is not much, I have given up on my Piano Quartet in Eb+. The third movement is disgusting. It has its moments, but mostly it’s just inane pretty chords. I hope the first movement is still all right because I’m guessing it’s going to be a one-movement quartet. The second movement can be its own piece too, because I’m not ending a piece that’s in Eb+ in E-. That would just be the wrong mood! On the up side, I think I found a kalmaeiric mode: major scale, flat sixth, no second, and major seventh used sparingly. I’m using it to try and write a song and dance. Won’t be performed for a good long while as I only have the first couple of phrases of the song, and there are no words to it yet!

Also here is Elfinessé’s very first video game review with Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast! Perhaps it’s not particularly well written, or insightful, but it does provide my opinion of the game.

Got a Link fix last night… perhaps I will have a chapter for you soon?

portrait3Aaah! It’s Ruto! Run!

This picture is based on the cut-scene after Link beats the Water Temple boss and Ruto becomes a Sage. She tells Link… well… the title of this picture, and ever since he saved her life when they were little kids, she’s had a bizzare crush on him. She keeps flirting and not listening to him… Link doesn’t help matters by being unable to talk in the game. i.e.
Ruto: I’m your fiancé!
Link: O_O
Ruto: (blah blah blah, blah blah)
Link: >_<

So, we all hope that being a Sage means she can’t keep chasing Link, don’t we! Anyhow, in the Temple of Light, she tells him that, and then I got goofy. Another bad picture, but it’s kinda cute.

I’ve watched a lot of movies recently, starting with The Cat Returns, which is sweet, and we watched it in English because Cary Elwes is just too good as the Baron. The other voices are not too bad, either. In the French version, they did change Yuki’s name to Blanche, which annoys me. We also watched The Empire Strikes Back original style, and the only real change is the ice monster. All the other changes are actually for the better, but they’re not too noticable, which is good. Today we watched Toy Story and Toy Story II! They’re so good! They’re so funny! We did skip past my least favourite parts, like the bit where Woody gets ostracized by his friends because they think he killed Buzz.

I also read the rest of The Lost Road, which has a lot of the Silmarillion in it, and rather similar to the finished version, but it’s also different. These are differences in names, mostly, like Fionwë Son of Manwë instead of the final Eonwë Herald of Manwë. Some of it seems a lot closer to me and more detailed, like the March of the Noldor to the North and how they were warned to turn back – it all seems more present now than it did in the Silmarillion. My brother is interested in the book that has “Isengard” in the title.

Tomorrow is the end of Christmas break, and I’ll be working my hands off getting my new pieces ready for stuff. I feel that I haven’t been working hard enough. Well, it’s been a holiday, and so I’ve been playing games! It’s fun, and I enjoyed it, but I don’t feel that I accomplished anything.
Flairé: Which is the point of a holiday!
Yeah, but I just have this feeling that I’m behind.
Flairé: Let’s see if you get out of bed at the proper time tomorrow.
Winter puts me in hibernation mode. Zzzzzzz…
