I Came, I Ran, The Internet Was Slow

Yesterday was wierd. I went for a run, so that’s what all the talk of running is about. (I didn’t go today; I slept in. So L doesn’t need to worry about her doctor’s appointment. And I’m not too disappointed because there’s salsa tonight to rest up for.) Then school happened, as usual… In Latin class we talked about that treasure trove that was found in England. That was pretty cool. They abbreviated Domine as DNE. Then there was rehearsal, and we tried the Creston Sax Concerto first movement up to speed, and it was wicked. There was a Latiz quiz, and I was almost late because of the ME students’ music sale, but I think I did well on it. The Music Ed students were having a sale of… stooff. I’m not sure where it’s from, but they had five or six large bins of LP’s. I bought about a dozen, including World’s Most Famous Concertos, a Czech Christmas Mass, Smetana String Quartets, and Haydn Divertimentos. I mean, Mozart’s Divertimentos are just so fun; Haydn’s must be good too. They even had a record of Brothers in Arms, but Dad already owns that on CD so I didn’t get it. I ran into Dr. Syer and he saw the records I had and one of them was of a Bach multi-harpsichord concerto that Dr. Syer has someone doing in the Collegium, so he asked if he could borrow it sometime. Cool. The sale also had a lot of old books, but they weren’t nearly as interesting. In my piano lesson, May Ling was pleasantly surprised that I played certain octaves LOUD. And musically. Which made me happy because that’s been my focus of the last week! Then I came home, made a new friend on the bus (I recognized one of the first years and struck up a conversation) and found out the internet was practically dead so I couldn’t fix a mistake I made on Flaer’s character page. I mean, I put Dvorak instead of Smetana. How dumb can you get? Anyway, I fixed it just now. Chorus made me tired, but we got the Misa Tango.

More Stalling

Hi! In the interest of getting useful stuff done today (which I didn’t yesterday, I’ll have you know - besides the three hours of piano) I’m not going to put up the university sketch dump part 2. Instead, I’ll post a character profile later today. Perhaps not as interesting, especially as it’s probably going to be of Ceniro, whom you’ve most likely already read about, but it’s better than nothing, right?

I’m playing in Fridaymusic today, with Christine, and going to Thor’s show The World Outside this evening. And I need to practice the second variation of the Dutilleux and draw three portraits. Good times.

Btw the days of my flab are numbered…

And due to a fascinating discussion on the True Magic forum about The Silmarillion (touching on Glorfindel (<3), Fëanor, the Silmarils, Mandos, filial love, who died first, im/mortality, and what constitutes tragedy), I’m going to be digging up and posting a poem I once wrote about one of these subjects. I should also totally draw more Glorfindel art. But not today. Maybe tomorrow.

"Yes, I am that confident."

"Pffft, who needs two hands anyway? I'm using the other one to rescue kittens."

mirkwoodfamiconThis is a picture of a time when I was depressed, so Flairé caught me on the way down… One of my friends says “he’s very confident he can catch you, reaching up with only one hand…”

Yes, yes he is.

Hmmm…. my repertoire is no good, I gained 10 lbs in the last month, and my favourite headphones broke. BUT. I went for a run. And I will continue doing this until something shapes up.

I have two links for you: SLEEP from Nova Science Now, and Shimmer, a YouTube video of Sims people based on a webcomic.

ONWAAAARDS! I have a Latin test today. There is Latin in Missee Lee, an Arthur Ransome Swallows and Amazons book, and I suspect there is some in Alice in Wonderland…

linksadicon So. Yeah. The Silver Helms charge and the men-at-arms run away. Surprising, that. There are five of them, I just didn’t draw two because they wouldn’t fit on my silly road. That isn’t runes on Elfin’s sword, either - it’s blood. I wonder if I actually killed some guys or if they just ran away. I wouldn’t be surprised. : P

And yeah, mages are magey… not much to say there. Damsel’s head is squished. Not a very interesting page. Sorry. Next page is even less interesting!

Check back tomorrow to see what the blue-eyed commander has been up to! : P

I keep playing games against my brother and losing. It’s a little annoying, except when the battles are short. Also I draw faces all the same, which is even more annoying because it seems to take a lot of effort just to get them looking good and all the same. It must be even harder to get them looking right and all different! Whoa… mind-bender. But I drew a lot of faces yesterday, and I’m happy with most of them aside from the ‘all looking the same’ thing.

I’m still addicted to writing my story TTatJ, although it has hit sort of a brick wall in terms of imagination… I keep hammering at the last scenes in Chapter 5 but they all sound stupid. OH WELL CHAPTER 6 HERE I COME. Let’s see if anyone gets killed yet! …Btw, anybody want to volunteer as proofreaders? To give me comments and critique and suggestions on how to make it less stupid? Hey, it has an original plot and 80% original characters!

I’m going to go practice SSBM after I get cleaned up from my run. We’re missing a Kirby Smash trophy! How did that happen!?!? Or piano. Or I’ll try drawing Link again and add a few kalmaei for kicks. I really need a new sketchbook. I have about six pages left! All of a sudden! O_O7

Okay, I got the Kirby Smash trophy, got a few more Marth trophies, finished Chapter 5, and was left to my own devices for a couple hours, so I’m feeling chipper again. Huzzah! I lost the Warhammer battle today, as well, but I found a 20-use free GIF animator and I made a short (1M) animation of one of my friends smiling creepily because he does that. <_<   >_>

I keep editing this post. My bad.

aiwelossnowicon Yeah. One survivor. One scout made it through the Bretonnian phase. Fabulous. Not much you can do with one scout, even with their Ballistic Skill of 4. And yeah, I am terrible at drawing cornfields. Not sure why the crow died in panel one as well as its victim. The building-y thing is that blue-roofed barn that pops up in a lot of Warhammer things, though I think I fancied it up for purposes of this picture. Let’s see if I can find it.

Here it is.

Check back tomorrow to find out… what happens in the next turn. Exciting, I know. But it has a picture of the mage!

I am so addicted to writing The Tactician and the Jewel. I stare at it for five minutes and then I write a paragraph and then I read it through again and add another paragraph. It’s hard getting everyone to do stuff and be interesting and be in character! I did jump ahead and add a climactic scene in Chapter 6 because it was hanging over me and I thought I should get it down before I forgot it. I should put the one in Chapter 7 sometime before I change it beyond all recognition. Well, I think I’m about halfway through Chapter 5. They’ve taken shelter from the snowstorm. Now the hero is going to slip and hit his head. Because he’s just that unlucky. I mean, everyone else gets hurt, why should he escape? And how the heck is the boss going to show up? I have no idea whatsoever how this chapter is going to end. Exciting!

I WENT FOR A RUN THIS MORNING!! I’m pretty proud of myself, since I haven’t gone in, what, a month? I went at about 9:00, which was rather late… if I had gone at 7:00 like I planned it would have been much cooler. But I stayed up until 11:00 last night writing TTatJ, so I slept instead. Oh well. Better luck tomorrow, since I don’t work today! I do, however, need to play a tiny Warhammer battle with my brother. Pickles. Go go Celebtholi!

I lost miserably.

He’s also asked me about playing A Lord of Bretonnia, but for some reason that really doesn’t appeal to me. It looks interesting… and then you get the Lord’s Tax, season after season, phrased either all the same or all the differently same, whichever sort of scribe you are. It got really boring for me the last time we played. Fortunately, he seems to have begun playing it solo - without me, that is. Which makes me happy.

I drew another picture of Ceniro which came out as good as my expectations yesterday. I drew a certain other character entirely from memory, and he came out pretty well! Though he looks more girly than usual. And there’s a background! …I want Photoshop 5.

I learned how to play Planxty George Brabazon (The Chieftains, from their CD ‘Water in the Well’) yesterday at work using the power of my mind. Well, no, but it played in my head over and over and I could hum it, so when I got home I got out my violin and I played it. Not perfectly, but I played all the right notes without too many mistakes.

By the way, the latest page of No Need for Bushido is sugary sweet and makes me squeal happily. Oh, Cho. Shame on you. :)

Lots of bread and cinnamon buns in the house! Glee. Also my favourite CDs on my iPod on random. More glee!
