hatchlingiconPrince Reyson of Fire Emblem 9 Trail of Blue Flames! Not as good as the last picture, but decent I guess. I ran out of page so that’s why his left wing is cut off. It feels kind of flat to me… not enough shading. One thing I’m happy about is the use of the white of the page to get his tunic white enough.

Wheeehooo!! We’re spraying silverfish killing stuff around the house! Not perhaps as permanent or as thorough as spraying before we move in, but it seems to be effective. Yaaaaynnrrrggrrrrnnnrrrrr(growly mouth noises) I hate silverfish. They’re hideous and freaky and destructive.

Today I played in the VCM’s Music Discovery Camp first week finale! It was tons of fun. I need to get the Oliver piano music book now. Yah! Sierra is an excellent actress, as well. She just needs to not rattle off her lines as if they’re something she memorized. Even when she does that, she puts expression into it (she was Dodger in the Oliver scene) but it goes by too quickly. But she did fine at the concert. Her little brother was Oliver, and he did pretty good too. Actually everyone did very well, but Sierra and Andrew (the king in The King and I scene, Daddy in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang scene) were the best. The camp was lots of fun, and Subway makes good sandwiches, and I got lots of practice done in between rehearsals, and my brother even came to the concert (in the hopes of seeing Nii-sama, ’tis true, who said he came close to being a student supervisor… the student supervisor we had was the daughter of my brother’s piano teacher).

Oh, but the only really bad thing to write about is that now I’m 138 lbs. Ugh. I drew a cariacature (spelling?) of myself last night and it made me feel somewhat better. I think technically I’m still just on the heavy side of healthy, but I’m nowhere near ‘fit’ or ‘active’ or ‘really healthy all around’. So I feel even more incentive to exercise… once school starts, of course! -_-7 Happily L thinks that running together is a great idea and I’m looking forward to it!

Oh, when I moved my bed to vacuum diatomaceous earth out from under it, I found the list of organ pieces that L wanted me to play last December… well, at least we know where it ended up! I’m learning new stuff now anyway, (including BWV565) so I’ll play that next time we go to a church. Maybe St. Dunstan’s! They have a nice organ that you can hardly tell is digital except for the stark lack of pipes!

They got a veeeery good looking couple to play Genaro and Amelia Luca in the latest Sherlock Holmes…

Quiz/Poll Questions: D’you think it’s worth using Javascript to keep the sidebar links updated? How about the category buttons? Who uses those? Would you miss them if I took them away? How about if I just put a link to the specific category page? Is there any way to update the linking mechanism so that for picture n, the next button will automatically link to picture n+1? What do you think would be good Kalmaeiric words for ‘north’ and ‘land’?

E-mail me the answers to any or all of these questions elfinessewebsiteathotmaildotcom! No hurry; you won’t see any of the proposed changes for many months. I work slowly. And the last I’ll be thinking about myself, so it’s covered even if nobody has anything specific to input there.

rinakoavatarUm, I guess I felt like drawing Fire Emblem 9 people. Imaginary cookies to people who can identify everyone of the Greil Mercenaries, and the Laguz in the back. Hints: the person lying on the ground has ‘hungry’ written over her, like so:

Hungry

Hungry

So she must be Ilyana. ^_^7 Then the crazy hawk is Janaff. And Mia is not recognizable, but she’s next to Rhys. Reyson is the bird in the middle in the back in the sky.

That was fun, even if I somehow came out with scribbly good guys. (unheard of, huh?)
I can’t remember what happened Tuesday. I probably went to choir and had a FANTASTIC TIME. As usual. Oh, and I believe Leslie and Michael G were both amenable, as of this date (Sep 25) to practice choir stuff on our own sometime. (As of today Oct 11 we actually did practice. More on that later) Michael M is in first choir, so the Vaughen Williams would have been a lost cause. I don’t think I know any second basses, though I think I might know a second alto.

shalelochfrediconUm… I decided to draw the herons singing again. Leanne’s hair is slightly better, but not much. And I don’t like either of their expressions. The squiggly line down the centre is supposed to be there; it shows they’re not as directly face-to-face as the picture would suggest.

Still moving stuff. Also figuring out last minute stuff like which bus to take.

idriliconLeanne and Reyson in portrait, except that I didn’t know how to draw Leanne! So her hair is completely wrong. Darn. But Reyson, on the other hand, my brother believes good enough to pass as official art – after colouring. …I don’t think so, but it’s a pretty good drawing of him. And I rather like drawing wings, even if I have no idea how to do it properly.

Sorry I didn’t update today. I was busy being lazy. I did rediscover Ralph’s Theme from Oracle of Ages, which, although only 16 bars long, is 16 bars of cool. I immediately started drawing fanart. But he looks like a dork in my drawings. Blah. I’m sure people are saying that Ralph looks like a dork in the first place. But, trust me, he looks dorkier now.

glorfindeliconNow I turned my attention back to the wonderfully fantastical game Fire Emblem 9: Trail of Blue Flames. By this time I had gotten to the part where Reyson, the heron prince, was betrayed by his friend Naesala, king of crows, and sold to the human (FE9 polite: beorc) Duke Tanas, Bishop Oliver. Reyson, despite being, as all herons are, frail-boned, also has a temper so he bashes Tanas in the face when he finds out! I always liked drawing the shape-shifters (laguz).

I ought to mention that in the process, he breaks all the bones in the back of his hand (as well as Tanas’ nose). Good thing he’s skilled in healing as well.

I need to do a picture of Ranulf because so far all I’ve done are birds. Birds rock, but Ranulf the giant cat rocks too. As Hail-NekoYasha said, that hat is utterly boss and worth about 49 coolness points. I’m more interested in his blue tail…

To continue, I tried to make Tanas’s villa look opulent to the extent my poor skills would let me, so there’re tapestries and oil portraits and landscapes and bits of valuable pottery, and masses of guards – oh, wait, they’re not opulent. Anyway, I wanted a crowd, but my patience gave out after the second one. No matter. My brother likes the ‘landscape’ on the left.

Fooling around with our dumb old Star Wars action figure voice projector thingy, we came up with these conversations.

“Meesa Jar-Jar Binks!”
Chewie, get us out of here!”
“Gungans no liken outsiders.”
“There’s one. Set for stun.” (fzzhiw)

Ahahahaha. ^_^7

My brother beat the Phantom Menace RPG for PC this morning, and the end was a little anti-climactic. For all that it took us several years to get past level 3, and then a couple more before we got stuck on the podrace level, the game is not very long and rather unrewarding. Even when you don’t cheat (Iamobi). Kevin likes Panaka because he gets a super-reflecting-bolt gun, but likes Obi-Wan because he gets a lightsabre and he gets to double-jump (though pretty uselessly, or maybe it’s just that the guys in Battlefront have super-spring-legs) and he gets tons of ammo that Qui-Gon doesn’t (heehee, repeater Nerf-gun). The voices are completely off. The viceroy sounds like Panaka. But a challenging game for people a) unused to Zelda and b) scaredies like my brother and I USED to be.

We’re doing all this Star Wars stuff because he’s trying to make a Star Wars board game so he’s playing and reading everything looking for planet names. He played through a great deal of X-Wing, and he’s even reading Timothy Zahn’s trilogy, which he hasn’t before. He finds it oddly amusing in places. Me, I just cheer on Wedge and cringe when Timothy Zahn gets the squadron members ‘wrong’ – i.e. Rogue 10 is implied to be male and human, but in fact he’s male and Gand. So sue me for being a bigger X-Wing fan than a TZ fan. And I disapprove of Luke labeling everything he does a ‘technique’. But I can hear Leia and Han saying their lines in my head, which oddly enough doesn’t happen on the rare occasions they appear in X-Wing.

Yay! Wedge!

I think I would like to listen to Fire Emblem music again. Some time I’ll just sit down with it and listen to it. Perhaps when I’m in bed, waiting to go to sleep. 8 is, as I’ve said before, proportionally better than 7 although 7 has more songs, and 9 beats 8 by having a really real sounding digital orchestra. And it has lots of tolerable to good songs as well. I only can’t stand the ones about the bad guys because, of course, they make them disturbing in harmony. That’s 7′s problem – too many bad guy songs.
