glorriveniconAnother version of Heroes All! With Lyn, too, because she’s so cool. The strange people here are (L-R) Mengil, who was an evil Warhammer Dark Elf who was rather handsome in the White Dwarf article about him. So now he’s a good guy because I say so. Then there’s Legolas, then Kusko, the skinny dude, and Kurama sitting on the ground, explaining botany to Jim from Treasure Planet and his rocket-powered skateboard, and then Sain is sitting on a stump, chatting with the two Hylians: Raven and Link III, and Sain’s taken off his hip-plates. And Lyn is posing because she’s good with a sword.

I bought Tsubasa 6, too! Fai is painfully funny when he’s drunk. Poor Fai.

zeladanceiiavatarMore Zelda! This is, from left to right, Link II, Princess Zelda from Link II’s time, Raven, Link III, and Rana. This incongruous meeting is of all my favourite Zelda characters, I suppose, of that time… Sorry about Zelda. She was nice, but the scanner wasn’t big enough. Rana looks wierd. The Links look good.

The other day when thinking about the Oracle of Ages manga, I realized how well the backgrounds were drawn. It really seems like Raven comes from a medieval era, and Link comes from an era that is still medieval but is more civilized, in the appearance of the buildings and the roads and so on. Also, in the ‘future’, there is no monarchy of Labrynna, which adds to the ‘modern’ feel of the ‘future’. Raven comments on the industrious, pleasant look of the future on one page when he is rescued briefly to that time. Also a couple of other plot points make the earlier Labrynna feel more… like a pioneering, budding village. A farming village.

Just played at a recital, and now I will do a couple of surprises for my brother before settling down to play…

He was playing Wind Waker all morning, and we tried out some of these ideas.
Also, this is coming up next in Ocarina of Time, not in my story, but just to put a link to it here… because it’s funny.

I’m going to watch a couple of minutes of that Flynn movie… it’s on again. Also I’m going to watch the second half of Pride and Prejudice again (skipping Mrs. B) if I can swing it.

watermonstericonThis fair lassie’s full name is Raelleanoranda, because her mother is insane. (like Gaila – the stereotype I singlehandedly crafted of a stout, overbearing, ‘fashionable’, social-climbing mother). Raelle herself is a nice girl, called Ella by her girl friends, Ray by her father and her boy friends, and Raelle by everyone else. She has a sister named Chrysanthemum, married to a nice guy named Peter, I think. Raelle ran away from an arranged marriage to a fat, drunk general in the Hylian army and she ran to Labrynna. Can you guess where this is going yet?

Yes, I thought Raven was so handsome, and his marriage was guaranteed, that I took the liberty of making up a suitable match for him. She is cheerful, able to wield a sword, and likes fishing and gardening. Blonde hair, blue eyes. That ugly guy at the top was an attempt to draw Raven. I tried to make Raelle’s hair the kind of over-the-top waves like Nayru, the Oracle.

Today when I went to church, my faintness came back again badly… For some reason, I only ever feel like fainting in St. Andrew’s Cathedral.

The cherry trees along View St. are out in force! Preeeeeettttttyyyyy!

We also had an even better concert than yesterday. Lovely piano. Lovely dancers. Fun music.

My birthday present from Aunt Kelly was a lovely golden necklace, which she was anxious to know if I liked. Well, she’s the one with good taste in my extended family! Anyhow, I think I must be part pixie because I took one look at it and squealed “Shiiiiiiiineeeeeeeey!” I will now wear it for as long as I remember to put it on in the morning – I’m really bad with jewelry. I have a giant boxful of mostly nice stuff – well, it’s a box full of little boxes of nice stuff, so there’s not as much as you might think – and I hardly ever wear any of it.

Grandma said someone asked her if I was going to Quebec so I could start legally drinking. :p -> Blah. She gave me a lovely watercolour of me playing with a kite on a beach near Picton – can’t remember which… – taken when I was about eleven or something. Beautiful! It’s nicely framed, too, so I can hang it up right away. Right now it’s on my (violin) music stand, making an impression.

My brother gave me the miniature I wanted to make Idril out of (yaaaaaaaaaay) and the last volume of Nausicäa of the Valley of the Wind, which was very sad since half the main characters died finally – and they weren’t really the ones I was expecting. Also two of my pairings were incorrect, but oh well.

Mom and Dad gave me Sauron Defeeted – sorry, Defeated, which promises to be interesting.

Also, they gave me the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice (with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle) and I just finished watching the whole thing (more on that tomorrow).

Lastly, they gave me Twilight Princess for GC! EEEEEE! The anticipation of the weekend is so delightful!

ceniropointingavatarWe now return to Legend of Zelda pictures with a total stranger. This fellow’s name is Raven, and he’s from the manga of Oracle of Ages which a website called The History of Hyrule translated into English, along with the prequel Oracle of Seasons and some others. It also had an extensive image library. Unfortunately, due to dispair over unscrupulous individuals, the webmistress of that site shut it down some time ago, sadly just after beginning chapter 10 of 11 of the OoA.

Anyhow, just to explain, Raven is a young Hylian knight who left Hyrule and ended up in Labrynna some time before evil Veran started messing with it. He is the ancestor of Link II (see my timeline) and is both an inspiration to his young descendant and learns from him as well. He is not in the game. This picture is not great for all I tried to copy one of the frames from the comic.

Great concert tonight, with fiddle and Irish dancers, although the dancer solo began with a three-beat rest so everyone clapped. I enjoyed it all very much. Also my birthday occurs near the end of February, so Howard gave me a very good mini birthday cake and Janet gave me a pin that says Jennifer on it! THANK YOU!
