mercsageiconRadagast is a pretty cool model, really. I really enjoyed painting this one, although the crow was a bit trickier.

Flairé would be a crow if he were a bird. Michael would be a raven and Leslie would be a blackbird. Nathan would probably be an owl – he’s up all night and sleeps all day.

I don’t know what I would be. Probably a sparrow.

My brother would be a hummingbird for sure.

I’m going to retouch the site soon, add a few more buttons on the side, add a few extras, blah blah blah. It’s going to take a while. Sometime I’ll change the graphic design too. Probably around my birthday.

It kind of took me all afternoon to photograph these guys so I have little time left now for the things I wanted to do… make a CD for a few improvising friends, paint and write stuff, and there was something else, too. Meh.

marthmangapg10iconNow this is Beregond. I like Beregond. He’s excellent in the book. Very nice fellow. I based him so that he would be fighting at the last battle at the Black Gate.

Today we made icing in white, blue, and green, and decorated the gingerbreads. It was fun. Hasselbeck and Marth were especially ticked off– I mean, pleased. Then I used my webcam for the first time.

Earlier I went and visited Leslie, and she liked the card I drew for her birthday which is coming up. I’m pretty happy with it myself. She has an exam tomorrow, though.

idriliconMINIIIIIS! I should have done these pictures long ago, too.

Eärendil, as a 7 year old boy at the Fall of Gondolin, is modelled by Pippin in Gondor, wearing boots. I used Green Stuff, the two-part GW epoxy putty. Just a bit. The detail bits I’d like to bring out are the swirlies on his cloak and the golden wings on his helmet. I also think I did a good job on the cloth of this model.

And Eärendil is just cute.

I usually take him as a commander when I play with him. He does okay. The only other thing I want to say about this model is that I painted it in a very short period of time; only about two weeks. Same for the other two models coming up next. It was fun.

We made gingerbread cookies tonight! Hooray! We used every cookie cutter at least twice!

Also I wrapped some presents.

aiwelosavatarAha, now this is what that terrible picture of Penlod was for. These guys are the Pillar of Ivory, which Penlod has command over, also the Tower of Snow or something. So Penlod is the shaggy-headed guy in front with a double shield. I hollowed out a helmet for him. I put too much green stuff on his head for his hair. His face is the Silver Helm unhelmeted head; I had a spare, and that face is the most handsome that I have. The shields are all decals done in Photoshop and printed on decal paper, with a bit of Dad’s help. The banner, though, was painted by hand.

I also put hair on all the other guys, as well. Hopefully it looks better than all those scraggly Minas Tirith warriors in the movie. I always thought the Warhammer High Elf Spearmen looked like dressed up apes, but I managed to paint them to downsize this aspect – unlike their professional ‘Eavy Metal team, which painted it professional style, which made them uglier.

I’ll just point out that Penlod died in the story. Darn.

I really like this unit. I’ll have to get another for the Tower of Snow guys now.

Wednesday I took Grandma and Grandpa around the golf course. They walk faster than they told me they did.

legolaslinkiconThis is my fabulous Bolt Thrower, painted in the colours of the King’s House – red, white, and gold. Of Gondolin. My only complaint is that – see all that shiny gold armour? It doesn’t count in battle! Talk

I have green hair

I have green hair

about WYSIWYG*! Non-existant! But, I like the colour scheme very much. Thank you, Tolkien!

My other complaint is that the crew got stolen at the same time as Glorfindel on Asfaloth… Did I mention that the guy who took them went and locked them in his desk during March Break? So Dad figured it out during the first couple of days of March Break, and then I couldn’t get them back for a while. Grr. At least they weren’t restolen by some yahoo at whatever school that was. Then I would never have gotten them back. Also, he scraped all the gems off very deliberately. (sigh) He obviously had no idea how much effort it took to paint those.

Again, if they were plastic, I would have gotten them back as dust, so I’m lucky.

Tuesday… Kevin’s braces came off! Yay! Also, we went birdwatching at a bog, and I got my shoulders sunburned. Oh, well. I value my paper-white skin – because I think it looks nice – but it will get whited-out again next winter. I’ll never be able to get a pretty tan the way those beach bunnies in my how-to-draw-manga book do, so who cares? I saw a purple-and-green swallow!

That reminds me – the other day at the duck pond at the golf course, there were swallows flitting around like beautiful, graceful waterbugs. Pretty.
