esgalwenavatarWe’ve had an Allen Parsons Project Lyndis’s Legion music band, now let’s have a Dire Straits Hector’s (insert ‘group of’ word that begins with H) music band! Dire Straits is one of our (my family’s) favourite bands. That’s Eliwood on bass, Hector on guitar and lead vocals, and Lyn on rhythm guitar. Wallace is the one on the drums and Sain has been demoted to keyboard, while Wil (who I had no confidence drawing, so I left him out) has been promoted to a grand piano. Fiora is there to add tambourine to the mix and promote gender equality since Lyn is there too – so it’s not a boy band! Matthew is the guest star on saxophone. Also I put Kent’s name over in the corner, so I think he’s actually supposed to be the bass guitar while Eliwood plays some other guitar.

Blah for hands. Anyhow, the title of this picture is Solid Rock, which is a Dire Straits song, but I always heard it as Sally Rock. Also I have no idea how to draw a drum set. I just stuck in random things. I’ve also changed the band line-up for this one… Now, as I imagine it, Sain is on drums and Kent is on keyboards. Or else Farina, but she’s a bit too scary to let in here, I think.

Sorry I missed so many days, but I had no time. Seriously.

Sangwine needs a hug!

gauth01This picture is one of those terrible Fire Emblem pictures based on California Adventure: Matthew the thief, Lyn the swordwoman, and Hector the axe-guy are all on the Grizzly River ride, right under the nose of the giant bear-wolf thing. Funny, I think I liked the Disneyland part better, (coughstarwarscough) but I drew all my FE pictures based on the other one with the generic-type rides.

Gauthicus’ avatar is today being used to celebrate me deciding to join the True Magic forum – and entering the caption contest currently being held. Yay!

Oh, and the Triscuits with cracked pepper and olive oil RULE. They are delicious. Oishii desu ne. Yum. Gezundheit. Ohayo. Try them today! Or tomorrow, or some other day, or the next time you go shopping, or whatever… Well, we like them.

You can now see some more of my fanart if you go to The Prime of Ambition. I drew a picture of Audriel for their contest. I think something happened to the file, because it looks different for some reason, but his eyes are all shiny like I made them. Eeee. Go see how much I’ve improved drawing ears! I didn’t win, but I didn’t think I was going to. The person who won had a really, really good picture; beautiful.

My scanner is being bad… autocrop is evil…

zeladanceiiavatarFire Emblem! Wha!

Ahem. This picture is of four of the characters of Fire Emblem 7: Rekka no Ken (Blazing Sword) and they are in a rock band.

Why? Who knows? Well, I now have to tell you my life story, so hold tight. I was playing Super Smash Bros. Melee with my friend Bobby, and I liked being one of these two handsome swordsmen with long cloaks, and I asked him about them, and he didn’t know much, but he told me that Roy was a prince and Marth was some other guy, and they both came from this game called Fire Emblem. I forgot the name several times, but then I began to research it on the Internet, and I found some sites that talked about it. They were talking about the newest (at the time) game, which would be the first to be officially released in English.

Soon after, I read a copy of Nintendo Power somewhere (I sure didn’t own it… library, maybe?) and was formally introduced to all the characters of the first ten levels, along with a brief walkthrough and a ‘how this game works’ article. Wow, was I intrigued.

So, I was listening to the Alan Parsons Project CD we have, and I started imagining Sain singing the lead… and this picture followed. I plotted out where all the others would stand, but I never got around to drawing them.

Kent took more time than the others, as I was a bit afraid of him since he didn’t have any official art that got released in North America. He was started on December the 2nd, and finished January the 19th, and he still didn’t come out that well! Anyway, I’ll just put a couple of things below about the cast in this crazy excursion…

Character
Job
Lyn
Guitar (rhythm and solos)
Kent
Bass guitar, vocals
Sain
Lead vocals, solo guitar
Florina
First violin
Wil
Keyboards, vocals
Dorcas
French horn, back-up vocals
Erk
Viola
Serra
Cello
Rath
Second violin
Matthew
Saxophone, vocals
Nils

Lucius
Clarinet, I think, or was it harp?
Wallace
Percussion

As you can see, I don’t know much about the way rock bands work. I just went by what I heard. Here’s who sings what.

Old and Wise
Eliwood guest solo

My favourites are Eye in the Sky, Time, Don’t Let it Show, and Old and Wise.
In Time, the singer sounds a lot like Kent. That’s why I put Kent as singing it. Don’t Let it Show is very beautiful, and I imagine Sain writing it for his girlfriend.
SPOILER FOR MY STORY (which hasn’t been put up here yet…)
Old and Wise almost perfectly describes Eliwood after his tactician is killed in the second-last chapter. I had to change a couple of lines:
you follow(ed) where I go
I’ll miss you when you go
When they ask you if you knew me (they being people in the afterlife – not changed, but context added)
as the final curtain falls o’er your eyes
