Sorry for the long wait! I am back now, and I’ll update more frequently than once every two months now.

Today’s picture is of Howl and Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle. I think this picture came out well; it feels more than two-dimensional. Of course, his face is completely off.

I thought I had a lot to say, but I don’t really… over the past two months, I failed to get into either a Performance major or a Composition major, I played well enough in Festival, I recorded my concerto, I obtained recordings of both Chorus concerts this year, I discovered Mystery Science Theatre 3000, Star Trek The Next Generation, and Bruce Lee, and I just picked 14 inchworms off of my little brother who went running down at the golf course. I also discovered that I don’t know where a certain file is, of a card I drew in November and scanned because even though I found it slightly embarrassing, I like to keep records of all my pictures. I’m also wavering between completely on top of things and so far sunk that I have no idea how to start recovering.

glorfindelminiiconUgly picture… somehow, I lost all sense of realism here, and it came out looking like… well, really bad. Anyway, I got Howl’s Moving Castle, I guess for my birthday, and it quickly became my favourite Miyazaki movie, especially since it’s his only movie with any sort of overt romance. Plenty of others – Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, etc – hint at it, especially WotH, but HMC is the sweetest. And it’s full of drama.

And I like drawing wingies (like furries but with wings) but it didn’t work this time. And do you call that Sophie? Then you’re more forgiving than I am. But Howl’s face is still rather bishounen.
