setheirikahoneymooniconOh, Hector. How silly you are. And how much you don’t know your own strength.

Remember, a bruised tactician is not always an effecient tactician!

Thank goodness for cloaks. They make drawing slightly easier.

Art contest! Take a look! Deadline Dec 1! I forgot to add prizes, but they’re here now!

esgalwenavatarWe’ve had an Allen Parsons Project Lyndis’s Legion music band, now let’s have a Dire Straits Hector’s (insert ‘group of’ word that begins with H) music band! Dire Straits is one of our (my family’s) favourite bands. That’s Eliwood on bass, Hector on guitar and lead vocals, and Lyn on rhythm guitar. Wallace is the one on the drums and Sain has been demoted to keyboard, while Wil (who I had no confidence drawing, so I left him out) has been promoted to a grand piano. Fiora is there to add tambourine to the mix and promote gender equality since Lyn is there too – so it’s not a boy band! Matthew is the guest star on saxophone. Also I put Kent’s name over in the corner, so I think he’s actually supposed to be the bass guitar while Eliwood plays some other guitar.

Blah for hands. Anyhow, the title of this picture is Solid Rock, which is a Dire Straits song, but I always heard it as Sally Rock. Also I have no idea how to draw a drum set. I just stuck in random things. I’ve also changed the band line-up for this one… Now, as I imagine it, Sain is on drums and Kent is on keyboards. Or else Farina, but she’s a bit too scary to let in here, I think.

Sorry I missed so many days, but I had no time. Seriously.

Sangwine needs a hug!

gauthav3This picture I drew because I’m a hopeless romantic and I like the Hector and Lyn pairing. Besides which, I have this wierd habit where the music I’m listening to becomes related to a current fad in my head. This was part of an Enya phase, so the Shepherd Moons CD has become inextricably tangled with Middle Earth in general, and many of the songs there with Esgalwen in particular – except for the Afer Ventus song, which has Zela stamped on it. Parts of The Celts and Watermark became associated with Fire Emblem. Other parts are still miscellaneous, or make me think of Zela. A Day Without Rain is more Esgalwen – er, I mean Middle Earth. The Lazy Day song at the end, though, that’s for me as in human artist girl.

So, Hector and Lyn are on a date in Sacae to the tune of Sun in the Stream from The Celts. I still need to learn how to draw hands. And I’m no good at drawing romantic pictures anyway. Blah.

I forgot to mention there’s been another new Skyland on… Big orphanage of Seijin (telekinetic) children is discovered by both sides, one of the oldest (and cutest) kids, Lucas, thinks he’s a king, and the other kids are similarly wonky and childish, and they don’t know how Peter Pan goes.

I keep having dreams that I’ve finished all but just a little bit of my homework… Math (has these frightful little beasties called logarithms) and harmony review come to mind. Then I wake up and find I still have a whole line to analyze and harmonize, instead of a bar. Guh.

Hey, look! It’s another silly chapter of Timeless Ocarina! Plus tiny galleries dedicated to Ceniro, Flairé, Legolas, and Glorfindel! And another chapter of Rekka no Ken! And, last but not least, I’ve started downsizing those picture file sizes. This means reducing the quality just enough that you don’t notice, for the most part, and with the pencil ones, it works. I won’t touch the colour ones, I promise.

I also promise that this is the last of the Gauthicus avatars…

zelaavatarsm2This is near the end of Chapter 30 from the game, whatever it’s called… I’m just going to make up chapter names for all but the Prologue, which is the only one anyone ever remembers anyway. So. Voila. Er… Ceniro is tacticianing, and gets shot with an arrow. And everybody is sad. Terrible anatomy, but at least Hector has a big axe, and although Eliwood’s cloak is missing, he has a nice rendition of his rapier. That building in the distance on the right is the fabled Dragon’s Gate, sort of, and the two blobs on the left are Fiora and Florina skewering the archer with a longbow/ballista who shot Ceniro. This picture just goes to show why scenery/backgrounds are not my strong point. Also there was going to be a wyvern rider in the sky, either Heath or an enemy, but I cropped him out.

Hey, anyone a die-hard LotR fan who doesn’t mind their beloved series getting a little poke in the eye? Here’s the LotRfanclub Scrapbook. Includes Top 10 lists, phony pager messages, The One Sock (to heat them all…), How Many Times Does Frodo Fall Down, and the recipe for Lembas! Odd… the ingredients seem somehow familiar… Maybe the elven-queens have access to secret elf ingredients that have been lost from the world that give lembas the filling qualities and other mystical properties ascribed to it?

gauth01This picture is one of those terrible Fire Emblem pictures based on California Adventure: Matthew the thief, Lyn the swordwoman, and Hector the axe-guy are all on the Grizzly River ride, right under the nose of the giant bear-wolf thing. Funny, I think I liked the Disneyland part better, (coughstarwarscough) but I drew all my FE pictures based on the other one with the generic-type rides.

Gauthicus’ avatar is today being used to celebrate me deciding to join the True Magic forum – and entering the caption contest currently being held. Yay!

Oh, and the Triscuits with cracked pepper and olive oil RULE. They are delicious. Oishii desu ne. Yum. Gezundheit. Ohayo. Try them today! Or tomorrow, or some other day, or the next time you go shopping, or whatever… Well, we like them.

You can now see some more of my fanart if you go to The Prime of Ambition. I drew a picture of Audriel for their contest. I think something happened to the file, because it looks different for some reason, but his eyes are all shiny like I made them. Eeee. Go see how much I’ve improved drawing ears! I didn’t win, but I didn’t think I was going to. The person who won had a really, really good picture; beautiful.

My scanner is being bad… autocrop is evil…
