Detailed head-er

adhemleneibanner2015headsdetail

Click for larger. Decided it was high time to turn the temporary header into a slightly more detailed header. I tweaked the anatomy a little bit but Esgalwen’s nose is still blurp. I mostly did this to procrastinate on the last Transistor fanart which is the most ambitious one. I may tweak this further but it’s a lot shinier than it was before.

This week I found out that front break-falls in karate have been messing up my neck so not going to do those anymore.

Header WIP

Just uploaded a new header for the site; I’m reasonably happy with the lineart (except Flairé – what’s going on with your face, buddy?) but I’ll probably completely redo the colour later. Still, there’s enough here to update the banner with something a little more indicative of my current art and most important characters. : P

As for the characters, they’re pretty evenly mixed, I think… two kalmaei, one elf, one Hylian, two humans, a dragon, and an angel… and five males to three females isn’t bad. What is a little more odd is that there are four brunettes and three with black hair; not a lot of diversity there, and four with brown eyes, three with green, and one with grey.

If anyone doesn’t know who these people are, from L-R it’s: Zela and her son Flairé from the Adhemlenei, Esgalwen/Illinia from Mirkwood (Middle Earth), Ceniro of Santaruz from Elibe (FF7), Rana from Hyrule (LoZ), Hrulash and Garekhen from Rifted Riders, and Angel from my head. These people are the ones most fundamental to the development of my inner worlds.

Just wait: in a year or two, Liz will be on the header too. : P

Full-size art!

I Know You’re Out There Somewhere: Chapter 15

Okay, NOW Esgalwen’s Story is done. Haha! Now it’s 72,866 words long. : P This part is essentially the same as it was before, with a few words added here and there. For the new stuff, click back to Chapter 14 and read the first scene. : D

I really want to get Netflix and watch those TV shows I’ve been wanting to watch. : P

I Know You’re Out There Somewhere: Chapter 14

Well.

It’s over. After a year of waiting, I wrote the end for you. And maybe it’s not the ending that it could be. But at least it is AN ending, and now if I want to revise it, it will be easier to make sense of. Speaking of revisions, I haven’t forgotten anyone’s comments/criticisms, and I want to thank everyone for making comments/criticisms, and I’ll definitely be taking them all into account when/if I get around to revising.

I am not sure where to put the first scene in this. It feels like a scene that goes in the middle of a chapter. But there isn’t really room in the flow of the story to move it. That’ll be another thing to revise. :3 This chapter took two days to write, and is approximately 8100 words long (out of a total of approximately 69,600). The only part that I had written previously was the part about sandwiches, and the death of the spacedragon.

If you want to read from the beginning before you read this new chapter, here’s a link to Chapter 1 for ye. If you’re just looking for your cameo character, everyone gets several minutes in this one, except Marcus, who is ded-ded-dedy-permaded. I might turn around and throw in a reference to him later, or I might not. I haven’t really decided yet. But thanks everyone for letting me borrow their characters; they were super helpful to have around and I’d be glad to see them again.

Hope you enjoyed this story in all its rough-draft glory. I’m glad to have written it.

EDIT: After adding the scene with Torrigan, this chapter grew to truly monster proportions, so there is now a link to Chapter 15 at the bottom of the page!

Esgalwen – Singing to the Moon

Esgalwen – Singing to the Moon, by Aywren

Ngah, this is such a beautiful picture! You should click through to the original post on DA and read Wren’s description of her thoughts on drawing this. I love that she chose to draw Esgalwen in this way, singing at a moon festival in Mirkwood (I totally made up the festival and stuff, but it’s a reasonable invention, no?). I realize that I haven’t drawn a lot of Esgalwen, particularly in non-stressful situations, so this is a favourite picture of mine now. This was part of another art trade; I drew her Zemi.

I plan to use this (with permission : D ) as the ‘cover’ to the Esgalwen story. But first I must rewrite the story so it’s more gooder.

Esgalwen, captive

I drew a thing! It’s Esgalwen/Illinia, as she was dressed by the dark elves while she was their captive. At first. I think she had a great many costume changes, because they are extravagant in their… skimpiness. Or something. She’s not very happy about the whole thing, because not even her husband’s actually seen this much skin on her. Or something.

My tablet was so dusty I can’t even tell you. And my skillz are dusty too.

Good news – Esgalwen is level 23 in LotRO. Also my room is clean. Sorta.

I Know You’re Out There Somewhere: Chapter 13

Another chapter is done! I’m very close to the end. I don’t know how long the final battle will take to write but it’s just around the corner.

But it’s back to school tomorrow, so that will take priority. And I still have to see how to fix the light in my ceiling… I really don’t know how to put the new bracket in!

That’s all for now. I’m going to practice a bit before bed. Also I should eat, but there’s nothing I want to eat. : P

EDIT: Torrigan’s player has mentioned that Torrigan had a character arc, but unfortunately there isn’t really enough story left to flesh it out, so I’ll be leaving it up to you. Suffice it to say (as Torrigan says) that he’s not quite as nice as he used to be. We’ll see how well I can add that. However, I’m still not interested in the war, so it’s staying more or less vague and in the background.

I Know You’re Out There Somewhere: Chapter 12

YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY I got a chapter done. : P Credit goes to Thari for helping me with the battle, not by telling me what to write, but by telling me what to think about in regards to what happens in battles. : )

New cameos! Kaisten, (c) Kaist, and Kip, (c) Wren!

Not much to say? Having the best break ever, except that means I’m running out of news. Also apparently we DO have Skyward Sword, although I’m still tempted to buy it for the soundtrack CD, because otherwise I will have to wait several months before I hear it.

Also melted chocolate is just as delicious as unmelted chocolate. Particularly if it’s Belgian.

Also we have a foot of snow! Yay!

I Know You’re Out There Somewhere: chapter 11

Yaaaaaaay the long-awaited Chapter 11 is up! This is only half of what was originally going to be Chapter 11. That would have been a doozy. But anyway so Chapter 12 will have even more of this emotional crap, though perhaps with less attempted seduction. And I really mean that ‘perhaps’. Man, I should put a warning on these chapters.

Four new cameos in this chapter! Marcus is perhaps a little OOC for who he is in his own universe, but since he has a different position in this universe, hopefully he fits in while retaining some semblance of who he is? Apparently I got Lu spot on, which is always nice!

I guess this is FiDaNoMo? Finish that Dang Novel Month? Yeah?

I Know You’re Out There Somewhere: NaNoWriMo2011 – chapter 10

Another chapter! Slightly edited; skipping some of the torture prawns that were in the original. I don’t know what drow are like, soooo here’s my guess.

Very sleepy. Too many early mornings. I have only early mornings until Thursday, and I’ve had them since Friday. Boo. At least I’m almost healed. My voice is still a bit off, and my nose is still a bit odd, but I’m pretty much back to normal.

Also, too many projects. This will be the last chapter you get for a little while, although I do know what happens next chapter, vaguely. I have some visual arts to do in my free time. Aaaand then there’s the music I have to learn… Tried to get some work done on the Kakadu tonight. Am concerned that I am trying to learn my long-term music too fast. Need to spend next weekend solidly in a practice room. Continue reading
