longshipiconSleepy… okay, that’s not true today at this minute. It was true yesterday.

This is a ‘symbolic’ picture of Seth, getting beat up by his knightly vows, and Eirika, the saving angel of love. Or something like that. I really don’t know. Anyway, she’s too bright for him to look at, and she’s filled with pity.

Once again, I must express my gratitude at having fantastic friends! Other news: I’m working on a DVD project, and it works on the downstairs computer but not on my laptop (grrrrrrr). We also rented Metroid Prime: Echoes. Wheeee! Go Samus! What if Captain Exeter were still alive? He looks so peaceful dead…

Also I’m drawing more pictures……

christinaiconI remember drawing this at Aunt Sets’ new apartment, so we were going to the Silver Medal ceremony so I could receive my Grade 9 Organ RCM medal. For BC. Not very interesting again. Anyway, this is the most realistic bandit or bad guy I think I’ve ever drawn. And his feet are terrible. Eirika’s hands are too skinny and my experience fencing didn’t help me enough with her right hand. And her body should be twisted more to her left so she makes a smaller target. Blah blah blah.

I actually like this picture. Could you tell?

Art contest! Take a look! Deadline extended to Dec 24!

zelaavatarsm2This is undoubtedly one of my favourite – no, my favourite Fire Emblem 8: The Sacred Stones pictures. It’s called The Prince’s Despair after one of my favourite songs from the game, which is the desperate, longing, turmoil of Prince Lyon’s theme, except when he’s been taken over by the evil Demon King. The music inspired a slightly different picture, though.

In this picture, Lyon has been dumped by the Demon King (hopefully with his soul intact) and now fights alongside Eirika, Ephraim, and co. Although the scale is massively off (just look at Altha, Seth’s horse) the detail I put into some of this makes me feel good. And Lyon looks like Lyon. He’s the one in front, with long hair and a spell-book. Behind him is Eirika, and behind her is Ephraim, who is somehow bigger than she is, and behind him is a distorted Seth on a distorted Altha, and in the back corner are Prince Innes and Syrene the Frelian pegasus commander. Ephraim’s head looks good.

I love that music. Too bad the actual theme part is all of one line long. The rest is just disturbing chordal sequences. Yes, I think the music in FE 8 has a higher hit-to-filler ratio than FE 7, in that there are about half the number of songs, but more of them are memorable and exciting/beautiful/thrilling/on my favourite list.

At Kevin’s insistance I’m also working hard on Ceniro’s movie again, and painting models.

untitleddanceravatarTwo pictures in one day? Huh? Well, they were both on the same page, so there. Two red-headed men propose to two greenish-bluish-tealish-turquoiseish-haired women, with predictable results. So, yeah. Seth and Eirika from Sacred Stones, from the chapter where Seth takes a spear through the shoulder in my story. Kent and Fiora from Blazing Sword, at the end somewhere. Kent is so hard to draw recognizably, and Fiora isn’t great either. I guess I just had to get the sap out of my system. That scribble in Seth’s tent? It’s his armour, I think. Except I cheated. (snark) ^_^7 Okay, I’m being random. Sorry. His coat was okay, though.

Tactically, Fiora rules (along with Florina, naturally).

Yes, they were drawn on the same page, but K&F at right angles to S&E. And as you can see, kissing is still not one of my strong points in drawing. I guess I have to watch more animated kissing movies or something.

Yesterday, after I posted, we did go to GW and got beaten up by a young guy with some nicely painted skellies, and Paul (the other one) invited me to challenge him some Thursday. I have to finish Link the Large and preferably my second bolt thrower, not to mention those cool Dragon Princes. Tuor has permission to pry the rubber tip thing off the unused toothbrush, so I can start painting his cloak. Now where did his cloak design go? So I’ll probably get around to fighting with Paul at the end of the summer or something. Oh, and I get lots of comments on the little white ceramic cat I keep in my figure case (lack of room on my display shelf, which admittedly is not organized properly even yet). Odd. I also have Dad’s Ogre board game turrets in there, and no one notices those. I guess the cat is large enough to notice.

I wish I’d based more of my guys with square bases… then I could use them. Well, I guess Elladan, Elrohir, and Radagast are fine for ‘display only’ (although E&E are not the greatest painted models, as you’ll see day-after-tomorrow) but Glorfindel I could have done with square. Hey, I have another blister of Glorfindels! I should take the nifty base off the one I already did, put a square base on that, and put the round one on the super-showcase model!

Nah.

Yesterday my brother got one of his evil moods and wouldn’t stop poking me until I let him use the computer (after his bedtime) for some ‘vitally urgent business’. -_-7

kuuichiiconJust a picture of Seth and Eirika. She turned out nicely, for once, and I like her light fluttery skirt. Seth is less good than the previous picture. Altha (the horse) is just plain wierd. Well, besides Seth’s face, his body turned out all right. Eirika is actually not great after all. I changed my mind. Good shoulder pads (pauldrons) but that’s about all. And skirt. Still like the skirt.

Altha is ‘weapons’, more or less, in Kalmeirin. No one would know if I didn’t say, so here you are – a random bit of trivia.

Stephen Brown is concerned about my quartet. Worried the third movement will flop because I haven’t made a concret plan. Did ALL composers really plot out every single piece? Didn’t just write from total inspiration? Today, they don’t really. I know that. But it rather destroys a fond ideal I had.
