idriliconMINIIIIIS! I should have done these pictures long ago, too.

Eärendil, as a 7 year old boy at the Fall of Gondolin, is modelled by Pippin in Gondor, wearing boots. I used Green Stuff, the two-part GW epoxy putty. Just a bit. The detail bits I’d like to bring out are the swirlies on his cloak and the golden wings on his helmet. I also think I did a good job on the cloth of this model.

And Eärendil is just cute.

I usually take him as a commander when I play with him. He does okay. The only other thing I want to say about this model is that I painted it in a very short period of time; only about two weeks. Same for the other two models coming up next. It was fun.

We made gingerbread cookies tonight! Hooray! We used every cookie cutter at least twice!

Also I wrapped some presents.

Art contest! Take a look! Deadline extended to Dec 24!

untitleddanceravatarThis is Eärendil, setting sail in his swan-prowed Vingelot, out from the dark cliffs with the Silmaril on his brow. This picture was based on a poem in the Book of Lost Tales Part II, in my edition on page 267: Eärendil arose where the shadow flows/At Ocean’s silent brim…

I like the older version of the last verse, though: Tracking the Sun in his galleon/And voyaging the skies/Till his splendour was shorn by the birth of Morn/And he died with the Dawn in his eyes.

It’s much more hopeful and glorious than the newer version, which has him withering in the darkness of the abyss.

Um, I don’t have much to say today… except I did dream that I was Flairé, doing typical Flairé stuff…
Flairé: Helping out random people. In this case, getting Link his Pegasus Boots because he was stuck in the middle of a town with a bunch of officials with spears after him and they were draining his hearts badly. We saw Ilyana, too. I think we fell off a building thanks to some idiot pushing me on purpose, but you should have seen how we dealt with the machine-gun guy before that! -_^7

Snow is still here, and Eric too… he’s probably completely made of ice now.
