So I gave up on yesterday’s picture and drew Zela instead. In her long dress. I’m not sure if I’m okay with it or if I hate it. It’s not very good, but then I look at it in a different way and think it’s okay. Whatever. I should do some colour art some of these days.

But today I have a Philosophy test to study for (darn confusing Ethics theories) and also lots of organ to practice, and then salsa! And then I should play some Guild Wars so I don’t get kicked out of the guild. :P And I have other, little errands to run too… But first I need to study.

Ooh, there’s an organ concert at Christ Church Cathedral on Friday! It’s Michael Gormley, and he’s playing Bruhns AND Buxtehude! Win!

Eeek! Sorry, guys. I know there are pictures to put up and guess what happened instead.

I bought Sims 3 and SSBBrawl on Friday. Now I am broke and highly entertained.

Anyway, this picture is of Gullac, which is pretty clear, a quick scribbly sketch of him dancing on a cliff beside a tree in boots and a wrinkly loose tunic. I think maybe his hips are a little too girly here. But, you know. It’s Gullac. He’s one of those kalmaei who loooves confusing people.

Hey, if you make comments, you can now put in smilies! I’m trying to find out how to tweak the code to add more smilies.

So I bought Sims 3… I let my brother play sometimes, so I have spent time on stuff like piano and homework and Moby Dick. My current game is a hypothetical situation in which I am sharing a small house with Leslie and we work in the music business. Kevin, Cedric, and Nathan live down the street, kitticorner to Flairé, who is an athlete, and who lives two doors away from Organist. I turned story progression on, so while I was playing as Kevin in order to get him a job, Flairé started dating me. 8O Actually, that’s pretty cool, imo. Flairé IRL thinks this is simultaneously hilarious and also a little embarrassing - and he’s not easily embarrassed!

The Super Smash Bros. Brawl game is really fabulous. My brother and I got really really excited yesterday when we were playing Story Mode and our favourite characters started showing up gradually. We are 15% of the way through and we played for two hours. Yum! …Marth is delicious. Deliciously awesome, that is. (omigosh, he’s even faster than before, and hits harder, too! and he has at least one new move! and he still speaks in Japanese! and the cutscene with Meta Knight is super fantastic!)

Oooh, it’s a painting! Not Photoshop, but Corel Painter. I was messing around with it, trying to see if I could get it to work. I think I did. In a rudimentary fashion, anyway.

One new thing I tried was highlighting from two different light sources. Well, that’s rather fancy talk for what I really did. I just highlighted from a neutral light source, then applied the blue layer and added orange highlight on one side - for the fire - and white on the other - for the moon. It’s a little bit too subtle but too much looked really bad.

The attitude turned out pretty good, though.

I painted this while listening to The Kilforna Set from the Chieftains Album Water in the Well. Great tunes!

Am beginning my recital poster as soon as I post this.

Hey, I need a pianist to sub for me at a short and rather informal choral concert on Sunday. It’s only an hour long with an hour long rehearsal beforehand; good pay and transportation provided. Comment or email me if interested and available and dwelling in Victoria! : P

zelaavatarsm2I was bored or something and drew a quick sketch of Flairé with limbs that are much too long. …And that’s all I have to say.

My brother found a set of sketches that I made of a pair of adventure game characters… the Connell siblings from two of RinkWorks’ Adventure Games Live. Kenneth Connell, from the spacey “The Perils of Akumos”, and his sister Karla Connell, from the college sci-fi “Trail of Anguish”. I guess I’d better put those up. But they’re really old and ugly. Well, maybe not. But the pictures are old.

I’m going to an organist thingy today. …And that’s all I have to say there too.

Kate Beaton is still fabulously random. And I just found a comic about Romans. Yay!

Also a fantastic comic about vampires and the French Revolution. Bite Me. I mean, Woot.

anneicon So… this was drawn after I was walking down the sidewalk and I felt really really happy, so happy that if Anne my hawk laguz shapeshifter were there, she would be dancing and singing just like that. You can see she’s slightly transparent.

Happy!

I finished my Zela costume waterbottle holder bag in four hours yesterday (what a pain - I kept not having enough material, which meant more and more seams…) and the pouch/satchel/lunchbox in another four with breaks in the middle. Man, I don’t like buttonholes. I made two! And I need to make one more, so the pouch isn’t actually finished yet. The attaching straps turned out a little low. I should add something to strengthen the back so it stays box-shaped even when there’s no box in it. I also shortened the gauntlets, which means I can now play piano in them! Yaaay! Also wrote the outline of Chapter 9 of TTatJ, which I finished this morning, so I’m glad there was no salsa this week so I could get all my other things done. Today I shall lengthen the skirt of the tunic and then that will be all for this week. If I make a mini-pouch or embroider anything that will come later.

Tomorrow and for the next three days after that I will begin posting Ephraim’s Story because there are pictures to go in some of them. I sooooo need to finish playing and writing that. There are only a couple pictures, but most of them don’t have chapters written for them yet so I will do that. Maybe I can stop halfway through and continue when the Ephraim bug next hits me.

My brother liked the way this story started, as it seemed more actiony. It was also a little more sensical than Eirika’s Story. It will definitely be more sensical now, because I’m older and know more. And better. Though not better enough to not write it in the first place! : ) Not sure how many chapters there will be… hang on. About ten, making it the shortest full-game story I’ll ever write, excepting Mask of Darkness to the Island of Dreams, which covers two games in seven (long) chapters. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

One of the downstairs computer monitors died its last death, so we put the other one on Dad’s computer and we’re ordering a new monitor for the Shared Computer. Dad’s computer is so old it can’t take a flat-screen monitor. Which is really cool, in a way. New monitor should be here next week.

Found a new webcomic called Wayrift. Kind of cool; very anime-styled, but that’s all right. Long-haired prettyboys all over.

This weekend, after work and piano, my brother and I are planning to build a bunch of Warhammer terrain and find a place for it other than nooks and crannies in the hobby room. We have one river piece (will build two or three more); two hills, and a small tower. Onwards!
