This I drew to illustrate Zela’s sword for the purposes of obtaining my own for Hallowe’en. That’s why this picture DOESN’T LOOK LIKE ZELA AT ALL. I was planning to ink and colour me, and then draw Zela in pencil behind, showing that I’m very short in comparison being her, but am not her. But I never got around to it because this one didn’t turn out as good as I’d hoped. Some other time, I’ll do that. Oh, and that reminds me, I need to bug my dad about the pictures from this Hallowe’en.
The NFL football theme sounds like EPIC SLEIGHRIDE by Leroy Anderson. If he’d written an EPIC HARDCORE ROCK version of Sleighride. For trolls and dwarves. Um. Good going, guys. I always tease my brother and dad for singing Christmas Carols when it’s not December yet… I’ll lay off when it becomes December. But that’s three weeks away!
I wrote so much on my NNWM last night… something like 4000 words. They just wouldn’t stop coming! I just got inspiration for the scene (the meeting between Zela and Lilar the silver dragon) and wrote and wrote and wrote. Of course, then I slept in until 11:00 this morning and missed my chance of going to study Mendelssohn. But I will still practice piano! After I write just a little more… I’m actually ahead! And I’ll be more ahead this evening! I’ve decided I’m going to try and catch up to XiaoCaity from the True Magic forum. She’s at 25,000 words right now, and I’m at 17,000. The candy thing (little reward after every 200, or 500 words) is actually kind of redundant. But it’s nice to have candy. Mmmm……
Aheh, and look what happened to me. I blame it on work! Seriously, I have been concentrating on school pretty hard, and when I have spare time, someone else is on the computer. It’s Reading Break right now, besides being Remembrance Day, which makes me think of the Canada War Museum, so I have enough time that I should be spending on history to spend on interwebs. My personal interwebs, I mean. There’s so much to talk about that I’m going to not talk about anything. Ah, I should stop making excuses and get on with it.
I watched my brother play through Star Wars Teh Force Unleash-ed, and it was awesome too although the total romance is about 30 seconds. Oh, and we have a Wii. It’s pretty fun though I don’t have a lot of time to play it. I did a bunch of drawings this last week, and I’m doing a lot of scribbles in the margins of my notebooks, but serious art I haven’t had much time for either.
This picture must have been drawng AFTER I finished the elf archer costume mentioned above, since it follows pretty faithfully what I wore for Hallowe’en that year. Actually, yes, it does, because I made most of the costume the year before, in the guise of an elf knight. It was a Warhammer High Elf knight, the one from inside the front cover of the rulebook (that one’s really nice-looking). I made a white robe, and cardboard-and-foil armour that laced up with string, and even a cardboard helmet. This year, I took an interest in archery instead of spears – and I didn’t even make a spear – so I made a quiver out of wire and brown cloth, and a bow out of long pieces of bamboo from our bamboo windbreak on the deck, and also I got out the old raggedy cloak that was made from two pieces of gauzy curtain that Mom and Dad were going to throw away. Don’t laugh, this was all quite good for my skill level then! Also I had a white ribbon that I tied around my head a la Fiora. I looked pretty nerdy when I was done, but I was happy with it. Now, if I just had a pointy-ear-maker-mechanism…
