Biography: Lyrestan is Flaer’s younger brother. A naive young diplomat, he is getting his training at the court of the Unicorn-land, where he has met and fallen madly in love with the youngest princess, Kylyralessa.

Personality: Impetuous, bold, romantic, Lyrestan is the perfectly dashing prince of fairy-tale. Goodnatured and bright-eyed, he never wants for friends, but often abandons them to go gallivanting off in the wilderness, or else takes them with him. He will never lead a friend into danger, however, and once sworn to something, will see it through no matter the cost. He is a passionate lover and an ardent admirer of beauty, and is something of a poet and a singer. His emotions are a little out of control, but with his older brother’s help, he is learning to turn them to his advantage. He does his best to help his father and brother, Flar and Flaer, by doing his diplomatic bit to keep things running smoothly, though will still go charging off on personal quests now and again.

-Kayaker: Lyrestan would be the captain of the kayakers of the Moon-land, but for the fact that he spends much of his time travelling between the Moon-land and Unicorn-land. He still has exceptional skill in a kayak and has trained his niece and all his nephews in the use of one.

-Hunter-Knight: Lyrestan is a knight through and through, but once in the wilderness he is a slightly different breed; he blends into trees like a squirrel but seems at home in any terrain. His axe-fighting is a fearsome and beautiful thing to behold.

-Lyrestan’s Axe: Lyrestan fights with a long-hafted axe which he treats as a cross between a sword with a long handle, a spear with a cutting edge, and a staff.

-Kayak: Lyrestan has a light kayak in the main harbour city of the Moon-land. He makes a point of making a sea excursion at least once a year, often in the spring before the big waves have died down for summer.
