I want my organ…

...I miss it... why didn't Zelda put one in when she redecorated?

Ganondorf got short-changed in Twilight Princess! This was originally my brother’s idea, and he says I didn’t get it right. That’s okay. I put my own interpretation on it. I suppose if they repeated the setup from Ocarina people would say ‘hey, what is this, Ocarina2?’ which would be justified… but Ganondorf playing organ is pretty cool. Even if it reinforces the stereotype that ‘organs are evil. Or at least creepy. And malevolent.’ Not too shabby a rendition of Ganondorf, for me, either. Could have been better, but I couldn’t figure out how much detail I could fit in to one page. Looks like I could have put in more, but it was smudging. I wanted him to be really shadowed and spooky. Contrast to the very short Zelda suspended above him. Ran out of room.

Hey there, and Happy Canada Day! Although it’s almost over. I went to a Baroque concert and got a sunburn, but the concert was pretty good. I’m also almost done playing KOTOR II. At last! I’ll be able to waste time on something good!

Uhhhh… or something like that.

This picture I like very very much. Doesn’t she look perfect? Big eyes and looking as if taken by surprise in the middle of the night, with only Naeri her fairy lighting up her young face. This is one picture that I must really apologize for my poor scanning/image manipulating equipment. I don’t have Photoshop of any description on this comp, and I’d like PS 5, but it doesn’t work on this comp because it’s too old. Anyway, I think her legs are too short, but I’m really happy with the rest of it. No real story behind the picture, although I imagine her in the hotel in New Kakariko (Twilight Princess-ish era).

I guess I should get a new Photoshop, but that costs money and I don’t use it except for this and the occasional – very occasional – CG painting. So I’m going to be patient for now. I can be very patient about some things. Like when the Wii came out. I was so patient that they stopped selling FE10 before I even got the console to play it on. I wonder if that will happen with FE11. Probably, although availability won’t be the issue there. I could easily buy both right now if I wanted to. If I didn’t think I should save my money a while longer. Which is rather dumb, because then they’ll stop selling FE11 and it’s the remake of 1 and 3!!! : P

Link with a hood

Creepy young man... <o_O>

Creepy young man…

Hmmm… I was trying to practice both cloth and facial structure. I’m not sure I succeeded, since Link looks more like any sullen young Japanese man than, uh, himself, and his ears did something funny to his hood… Not a terrible picture, but not one I’m particularly proud of either.

Ralph sketches

Aaaah, Nayru! I'll save you! Overly-dramatically!

Aaaah, Nayru! I’ll save you! Overly-dramatically!

Here are some sketches of Ralph, who has a groovy 16 bar theme in the game in which he appears, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages.  The theme made me want to draw him, so I did. Not very well, but the reference art I was using was really really small. Not that that’s an excuse. Hooray for Ralph/Nayru.

Here’s Ralph’s Theme. I’ve tried to arrange it before, so I can add it to my arsenal of ‘video-game-themes-I-can-play-on-piano’. I should try again sometime.

Joy of Life

Wheeheeheeheee!

Wheeheeheeheee!

I have a picture, though when I became free to post it, it was too late in the evening to scan it as people were already sleeping. Oh well. It is a picture of a Zora in Great Bay, because Zoras are gorgeous. They swim like darts, like minnows, like swallows, and it’s pretty fun to leap out of the water like a dolphin, if you can manage not to stall. This isn’t Mikey, just a random Zora.

Rana in pen

Oooh, what's over there?

Oooh, what’s over there?

Ooh, a pen sketch that turned out really really good! At least, it did partly. Rana’s head is on the right, whereas Zela’s head somehow ended up getting attached to Rana’s body on the left. But Rana’s head turned out really well! It looks like her! That wide-eyed curious fascinated smile, with gentle eyebrows and smooth brown hair that does what she wants it to do mostly… I think she’s very pretty in this picture.
