ranaavatar2 This is a picture, obviously, of Link, Rana, and Saria (sans fairies). They’re returning home to Kokiri Village from a long day of playing in the Lost Woods, where Rana hurt her foot. Again, I can’t do perspective too well, and I didn’t use a reference for Saria. So that’s why she’s not wearing her cute little green boots. Link turned out the best again, but still looks funny.

Went running today. Huzzah! Managed to run all the way from half-way up the first hill to the duck pond. Next goal – to run all the way from the bottom of the first hill to the bottom of the first hill – having gone half way around the golf course first.

I’m off to count how many days before I catch up to the present, and then I’m going to mess around with my Cavalry of the Silver Fountain. Probably won’t do too much. I can’t work on the X-wing until the cockpit is finished. And I need to practice. Today’s schedule includes Franck and Creston. Now that my iTunes has shot ahead from the Monn symphony (which I was sure was in B-flat) to the Alleluia from the Mass for Easter Sunday, I want to start composing my Mass – the one that I wrote the Ite Missa Est for Three Sopranos for. But first I should work on the Ash Grove Variations. Oooh, so much to do. I want to do all of it at once right now. Heeheehee.

EDIT: I’m back! I have 65 more pictures to post as of today. I’m sure I’ll draw more, and put up random other bits like whatever minis I haven’t yet shown you like the banner I finished just yesterday, but I’m getting down there! Also I’m going to be completely useless and play Fire Emblem 8 (Ephraim’s game) first after Franck. Maybe I’ll start working on that story. My brother keeps saying I should write that one because it’ll beat any other fanfiction I ever wrote hollow. Whatever. Let’s go trash the soldiers of Za’abul Marsh! I thought I was at Taizel but I guess I beat that.

yasashisaniicon Hello and greetings! This was a quick sketch of Link and Rana… it wouldn’t have been so quick if it had turned out right. Anyway, I started with Link’s head, and it turned out GREAT. Izzenee handsome? The rest of both of them, not so well. Perspective was not my strong point, and it still isn’t, to a large degree… Rana’s body is okay, althoug she looks a bit too skinny, or maybe a lot, and her tunic doesn’t sit right, and her head is not so good because, again, of perspective. I have the nagging feeling that I almost got it, that if I just change a few lines and move her features over a tad, it would be perfect. But I don’t know how. As you’ll see later, I tried again, and this time it was marginally better but Link’s face was not so good. I should point out that they’re wearing their clothes from the Twilight Princess period.

Sorry about yesterday; I went to take a nap and moved my laptop out to the living room so my brother could use it without bothering me, and there’s no scanner in the living room.

Been watching MacGyver. I think I’ve watched all the good videos on YouTube. I went to Amazon to check for DVD availability, and DVDs exist, but apparently they’re not so great. One boxed set usually came damaged, and the video quality is not very good, and there are no special features whatsoever, not even a booklet. Too bad. Anyway, Mom disapproves of my watching ancient TV shows, whether they’re apparently an important part of North American culture and highly entertaining or not. So I guess I won’t go and see if I can rent it somewhere. I’ll wait until I leave home first! : D And then maybe I’ll get some of those swords… I think I’ll save my money for now.

I also read Mom’s book (that she owns, not that she’s written) The Story of the Tour de France by Bill and Carol McGann. It’s really interesting, although the authors are not very good writers. They mix tenses all over the place, write numbers lower than ten almost exclusively as Arabic characters (1,2,3, etc.) instead of writing them one (one, two, three, etc.), and there’s at least one instance of ‘he’ instead of ‘his’, and one instance vice versa. They also put in personal asides, tell what happens at the end of the story before it begins, and use some rather strange language. I suspect they’re ex-pro-cyclists, from all that. The book itself is extremely interesting. One example: I learned about Eugène Christophe, the man who broke something like three forks on his bike in four TdF’s, the first one in 1913 where he had to hike 10K to the town of St.-Marie-de-Campan and fix it in a blacksmith’s shop, and got a three minute time penalty for having a small boy pump the bellows because the race organizer Desgrange had a (silly) rule that said that all cyclists must do their own repairs (and a whole bunch of other rules that seem silly now) – and yesterday afternoon this year’s TdF passed through St.-Marie-de-Campan and one of the British announcers (Paul Sherwen or Phil Liggett) told all the people watching TV about that story! I’m saving the second volume (1965-sometime in the last five years) for closer to the end of this year’s TdF.

Been practicing piano. Making progress. Huzzah!

flaireiconHmmm… I was trying to practice both cloth and facial structure. I’m not sure I succeeded, since Link looks more like any sullen young Japanese man than, uh, himself, and his ears did something funny to his hood… Not a terrible picture, but not one I’m particularly proud of either.

I’m making a lot of spelling mistakes today. I’ve made about eight or nine so far; I’ve fixed them, but it’s a little annoying. Anyway.

I had friends over yesterday! It was fabulous! All the scheduling worked out great, and the organ concert three of us went to was glorious, although I really really need to go and try out Christ Church Cathedral organ because everybody I know has played it – all the local organists have played it, my brother has played it, even Organist – who lives in Vancouver – has played it! I’m getting rather jealous. I’d better work on my Jongen and things like that. Did I say I’d started the Ash Grove variations? Of course I did (she says without checking). (finishes checking) Yeah, I did. Oh, I loved the little Haydn pieces for musical clock. They’re so cute! And happy! And I played the Fugue from the Mendelssohn that was played (Sonata #6), so that was nice to hear. I’ve also played the Buxtehude he played, but everyone knows that already. It’s the G minor prelude that UVic music students get to listen to in 120B (Baroque Music History). Also a really cool Arvo Pärt piece called Annum per Annum.

And then we went home and ate cheap popcorn :P and played chess and told D&D stories and watched YouTube (mostly Mythbusters (I like Grant’s hysterical giggle), the original Safety Dance by Men Without Hats, and others) and looked at the Failblog/Lolcats pictures I have saved on my computer and took a peek at RinkWorks until 1 in the morning. There’s nothing like looking at something funny on the Internet and having two great (and warm) friends leaning over your shoulders laughing with you. Also showed them the Steve Campbell books we have: Tales from the Back Page (also Son of a Back Page Book, but we didn’t get there). Steve Campbell is from Prince Edward County, where my grandparents live, so that’s why we have those books. Actually that doesn’t explain it at all. But we have them, and they are funny. We were all falling over laughing.

Also we talked about swords and martial arts. I think I might look into some sort of martial arts next year (instead of Rueda? In addition to Rueda? Hmmmm…. don’t want to give up my salsa…) for a similar reason as the CC organ… everyone else I know has done it! Also martial arts are cool. I also have a new place to hunt for a Zela sword.

And this morning we looked at How It Should Have Endeds. Also MIDI pieces which have pictures of Chocobos in them. Win! I only got 5 hours of sleep but y’know I’m not really that tired today. It’ll hit me tomorrow, I suppose. And I was a little sleepy at work. But they gave me three loaves of bread and a bag of cinnamon buns they were going to throw out anyway so that’s good.

I’m going to go for a run at some point. After supper, and after I do some piano. Just a little one.

Yeah, I don’t know either.

pentlouiseiconYay, it’s Link! I drew the picture in pencil, and I was afraid of ruining it, so I scanned it before colouring, though it was very very light so I had to super-up the contrast so it looks like this (down there). Anyway, the picture did not get ruined, and I’m actually very pleased with the shading I did.

Yeah. Not much else to say about this. Though I’d like to. …I like this picture. Okay. I said it again.

Huh… I had a hard time deciding what to put up today… Marker drawings? Minis? Ceniro? I decided. Marker todaylinklaughpic and tomorrow, and then minis for two days, and then Ceniro the day after. Then I’m taking a break for the end of summer.

Come to the Alix Goolden at 2 tomorrow afternoon if you’re in the neighbourhood! It might be cute!

Ooh, my brother is a jerk. He never goes away the first time I ask him. And he drowns out the radio, and how much longer do we get Disc Drive? TWO WEEKS. WAAAAAH.

And just because he’s hungry, he’s come back (after I finally got him out for ten minutes) and is still making a huge jerk of himself. Aaaargh.

Quiz/Poll Questions: D’you think it’s worth using Javascript to keep the sidebar links updated? How about the category buttons? Who uses those? Would you miss them if I took them away? How about if I just put a link to the specific category page? Is there any way to update the linking mechanism so that for picture n, the next button will automatically link to picture n+1? What do you think would be good Kalmaeiric words for ‘north’ and ‘land’?

E-mail me the answers to any or all of these questions elfinessewebsiteathotmaildotcom! No hurry; you won’t see any of the proposed changes for many months. I work slowly. And the last I’ll be thinking about myself, so it’s covered even if nobody has anything specific to input there.
