I felt like drawing people this day (17 August), so I started with Link, on the previous page, but he turned out rather creepy so you don’t get to see him. I think I was trying to draw his eyes like I observed them in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Which are purdy purdy. Anyway, then I gave up on trying to be better and just drew same-old same-old anime style. I tried to draw Marth (top left) and failed, but then I drew him again (top right) and it turned out better. Though with a bit too much angst, I think. Then I drew Esgalwen, and she came out well, though she and Flaria are disappointingly similar. Then I drew Roy, and he’s not the greatest, but whatever. And then Sain and Salir, because I haven’t for a while! Then I finished off with good ol’ Ceniro. Not my best portrait of him either, but whatever.

So… sick… Bleh. This week’s updates prepared beforehand so they should be a little more regular.

I played the Wayrift RPG, anyway. It was highly entertaining, although the flying fish got a little annoying after a while. Now I want to make my Zela RPG… not gonna happen, though. Piano! (runs)

Oh, and I also watched The Brain That Wouldn’t Die MST3K style on Sunday. It was pretty pathetic. And I got more comments on the fact that Adhemlenei is complicated to navigate, for some reason, so I’m redoing the About page. But no one can find it, even though it’s RIGHT THERE IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER, so I need to make it more obvious somehow. Ummmm…

gauth01If you switch Darth Maul’s initials, what do you get? <_< >_> ^_^7 : D

I used my Darth Maul action figure for reference. The shoulders still aren’t right. But Marth is skinnier than Maul. This whole idea is my Dad’s joke. I like it.

We bought Paper Mario I on the Wii yesterday. We liked Thousand Year Door a lot, and the first edition is pretty cool too, even if (as my Dad points out) it’s as cutesy as a sugar-frosted Jigglypuff in a rainbow field of unicorns. With heart-shaped clouds in the sky.

I finished reading all the imporant parts of my Mendelssohn book! Mendelssohn was/is awesome-sauce. I’m not sure where that expression comes from, but it sounds good. Sounds like he was THE musician of Leipzig. Chopin was one of his buddies! And he was a loving family man. And a super organist. <3

There’s a website called One More Level.com - Your daily loss of productivity. There’s a game on it called Paladin, and I beat it. Go me. The plot is cliché, and the action is hack-n-slash, but I beat it anyway. There’s no romance, but the hero is cute in his Paladin armour.

Anything important I wanted to say? ….Ehh, not really. Shabu-Shabu Tea House makes good consumable items. Braden has a big TV and a bigger shiny thing hanging on the wall. My Internet is down so I can’t give you the link to Paladin. I’m gonna learn how to draw wings TODAY. After I take my brother to Shabu-Shabu and practice piano and write 5 min or so of Quartet. Whee. Me likey Quartet, but it needs MORE FORM. MUST HAVE FORM. And good themes, yes, precious. I have a theme and I used it once in the opening section. I think it needs more than that. I’m going to copy it out AGAIN and put it in at least twice more somehow. Then I’m going to move on to the end section, not the coda, but the end section. I don’t really want to deal with the middle section at this exact minute. And I need lunch. Peanut butter sandwiches, here I come!

I dreamed I was tired and Thor gave me a piggy-back ride. o_O7

Here’s the One More Level.com link.

mirkwoodfamiconOoowheee, it’s my Sculpey people! I bought a Warhammer daemonette, made a sculpey mold of her, cast a sculpey daemonette, cut off all the extra evil daemonette detail, and had a plain female figure to remold and recast as many times as I liked. Sort of. It didn’t work. I ended up with long skinny blobs that were vaguely humanoid shaped… I’m actually quite surprised they turned out so well. Rana’s shield was painted. Marth is going to have a sword, but I don’t have one that looks like Falchion yet and I didn’t feel like converting it at the time… I still don’t, really. Maybe I’ll get around to it someday. Rana and Corinth’s swords are extra Warhammer Silver Helm swords I had in my bitz box.

Anyway, Rana I made first because I wanted a Rana figure of some sort. She’s kind of wiggly but I’m proud of her. Corinth, on the right, was next - he’s my brother’s elf character from an RPG we were doing together. Rana was used in the same RPG, and she was my character. Marth was just there because I wanted a Marth figure. I think Corinth turned out the best of these.

Tuor got finished in July of last year, as I said then. He’s up tomorrow!

Silverfish corpses are everywhere! It’s kind of freaky, because I’m afraid of stepping on them. But with so many dead, it’s looking hopeful that they won’t bother us much after this! I wiped up nearly 40 in the downstairs bathroom alone.

Today my brother and I did some ’silly’ roleplaying… he took his Adriano character from a new game we’re doing by email and had him do one evil thing and then did a whole bunch of other wierd things… including casting ‘blind’ on anyone who so much as looked at him, falling in love with the Lizardwoman Dilek who happened to also be a vampire, building up a huge merchant business, and eventually taking over the world by default. Looooony.

I’ve been looking at WordPress… I think it would be a good idea to switch over Elfinessé to it, don’t you think? It would make organization and layout so much easier, plus the added bonus of comments for you people! …Not that many people read this anyway, but that’s not the point. The point is that Elfinessé is here if you are interested. It’s not to be here for popularity or profit. I just like comments; that’s why I’m excited about having them!

Quiz/Poll Questions: Is WordPress really as easy to use as people say it is? How hard would it be to create my own look with it? Any ideas for the Kalmaeiric word ‘north’? Is the latest Photoshop decently easy to use?

E-mail me the answers to any or all of these questions at elfinessewebsiteathotmaildotcom!

fireflykayakiconThe final sketch of yesterday’s picture. Marth’s face didn’t turn out so well as in the practice (isn’t it how that always is…) but if you want to see the little bit of it that I coloured - last month - here it is! The colours I was going to use were… Marth in his usual blue tunic, Sheeda in her usual red dress, Marth lying on a red blanket, and Sheeda lying on a wierd blue cloak thing with fluttery bits all over it. And then a green strip of grass in the middle.

Yay for blueheads?

Today at work we reorganized the office. It was fun. Cleaning is fun sometimes.

Did I tell you I discovered I had a recording of my Franck concerto? I can’t remember. Anyway, it was on a 2CD set of Grieg, of all things, so now I know we have a recording of the Grieg concerto too. Glee! I had about three piano concertos (Grieg, Franck, Rach2), the Chieftains, the Cherubini Requiem, the Mozart Requiem, and I forget what else in my head all this afternoon. And last afternoon. And before that, too, but today it was very insistent. I think the Haydn Harmoniemesse was in there too. Who needs iPods?

Is it really that you just save a 16×16 image as favicon.ico and it will appear next to the address at the top of the page? Because it didn’t work in my test. Meh. D’you think it’s worth using Javascript to keep the sidebar links updated? How about the category buttons? Who uses those? Would you miss them if I took them away? How about if I just put a link to the specific category page? Is there any way to update the linking mechanism so that for picture n, the next button will automatically link to picture n+1?

E-mail me the answers to any or all of these questions elfinessewebsiteathotmaildotcom! No hurry; you won’t see any of the proposed changes for many months. I work slowly.

I have to go play Stronghold Crusader with my brother now. XP

sangbactdanceiconThis is a practice sketch of Marth and Sheeda lying on cloaks on a grassy lawn. They are not naked… I just left the clothes out of the picture. But they’re not naked.

This was going to be practice for a site redesign, but I decided not to use Marth and Sheeda mainly because they’re from Fire Emblem, which is a franchise not owned by me! So, while I was planning to do a graphic redesign for the whole site for whenever I posted the next picture (which might have been tomorrow!) I decided not to. I know you must be getting rather bored of this one after two years, and since I didn’t hook it up to a CSS it might take me a while to fix (and since I’m using Netscape Composer from Netscape 7 the HTML is all wonky so it really might take me a while to fix!) However, fear not! I’ll do it someday. Until then, I will try to work behind the scenes and secretly fix everything offline so I can put up Elfinessé2.0 all at once.pants

Bonus picture for today… I was watching the woodwind class in Festival or something… and I decided I didn’t really like these pants that were really tight around the crotch, at least not on women who don’t have really slim hips. ‘Cause I don’t like this look. I like the shirt. Forget the pants.

Speaking of slim hips, I’m getting back into the excercise habit… too soon? I know Mom wants me to look good in my slightly-expensive cute new bathing suit, or… well, in absolute truth she wants me to be ‘healthy’, which means less than 132 lbs which is where I am right now. The bathing suit is a side effect. But I’m afraid of starting too soon and then running out of motivation halfway through the school year. (Btw, L, you haven’t answered my running question yet…?) I am getting the urge to go faster to work and back, and to do sit ups… but is that a natural (and good) thing, or is that from reading four of Mom’s running magazines in the past week? What happens when I run out of motivation; when those magazines get old, even brand new issues? …Anybody want to be my running partner? I already have a coach… he’s accounted a Hero where he comes from… a Hero of Time… (cough cough) Which reminds me, I should move his picture back out of the hobby room where it’s been for the last year or so… I’m not getting around to painting my plastic Link statue anytime soon! Oh, but did I tell you, I finished my wooden Fokker D-VII airplane model I’ve had since I was eight when I glued the machine guns on upside down? ^_^7 I also finished my cut-out Egyptian masks book, saving Horus, my pretty birdy, for last… So that’s a couple of craft projects done. Oh, and I did a Sculpey sculpture of Rana!! Eee!

But on the subject of motivation, organizing sites haven’t really been inspiring me to pick up my room and be useful for the last month or so… though my organizing bags arrived from the Lazy Organizer! Now if I could just remember what I wanted to put in them… besides Tsubasas… and Nausicaas… Oh well, they’ll come in useful sooner or later!

Speaking of useful, I found the Microsoft Office Calendar on my laptop. I think it might come in handy, recording excercise and scheduling. I already my schedule is going to be well-nigh impossible next year, so maybe that will make it easier!

Oh, gosh, I love tenors… listening to our Haydn Mass in Bb+ from last December, and got to the Quoniam tu solus santus or however it’s spelled section… those guys did a fantastic job despite being only about an eighth of the choir (instead of a quarter). Can I fit in beginner voice lessons next year to my crammed schedule? We’ll see! I hope so! (seriously, I’ve scheduled every half hour from 7:30 to 11:30 every day except for weekends) And then I can’t forget about my organ… as soon as my Dad finishes watching his football game, I’m going to break out the BWV565 Fugue and the Buxtehude…
