Sad Hawk

Ach. I was going through a bit of a rough spot. So this is Anne, as a little girl, hiding under her wings (even the deformed one) with a hawk plushie. This is totally what I would do if I had wings and was sad.

Grad recital tonight! Eeee!

Going to post new pictures for a while now. Like, a week.

anneicon So… this was drawn after I was walking down the sidewalk and I felt really really happy, so happy that if Anne my hawk laguz shapeshifter were there, she would be dancing and singing just like that. You can see she’s slightly transparent.

Happy!

I finished my Zela costume waterbottle holder bag in four hours yesterday (what a pain – I kept not having enough material, which meant more and more seams…) and the pouch/satchel/lunchbox in another four with breaks in the middle. Man, I don’t like buttonholes. I made two! And I need to make one more, so the pouch isn’t actually finished yet. The attaching straps turned out a little low. I should add something to strengthen the back so it stays box-shaped even when there’s no box in it. I also shortened the gauntlets, which means I can now play piano in them! Yaaay! Also wrote the outline of Chapter 9 of TTatJ, which I finished this morning, so I’m glad there was no salsa this week so I could get all my other things done. Today I shall lengthen the skirt of the tunic and then that will be all for this week. If I make a mini-pouch or embroider anything that will come later.

Tomorrow and for the next three days after that I will begin posting Ephraim’s Story because there are pictures to go in some of them. I sooooo need to finish playing and writing that. There are only a couple pictures, but most of them don’t have chapters written for them yet so I will do that. Maybe I can stop halfway through and continue when the Ephraim bug next hits me.

My brother liked the way this story started, as it seemed more actiony. It was also a little more sensical than Eirika’s Story. It will definitely be more sensical now, because I’m older and know more. And better. Though not better enough to not write it in the first place! : ) Not sure how many chapters there will be… hang on. About ten, making it the shortest full-game story I’ll ever write, excepting Mask of Darkness to the Island of Dreams, which covers two games in seven (long) chapters. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

One of the downstairs computer monitors died its last death, so we put the other one on Dad’s computer and we’re ordering a new monitor for the Shared Computer. Dad’s computer is so old it can’t take a flat-screen monitor. Which is really cool, in a way. New monitor should be here next week.

Found a new webcomic called Wayrift. Kind of cool; very anime-styled, but that’s all right. Long-haired prettyboys all over.

This weekend, after work and piano, my brother and I are planning to build a bunch of Warhammer terrain and find a place for it other than nooks and crannies in the hobby room. We have one river piece (will build two or three more); two hills, and a small tower. Onwards!

hatchlingiconPrince Reyson of Fire Emblem 9 Trail of Blue Flames! Not as good as the last picture, but decent I guess. I ran out of page so that’s why his left wing is cut off. It feels kind of flat to me… not enough shading. One thing I’m happy about is the use of the white of the page to get his tunic white enough.

Wheeehooo!! We’re spraying silverfish killing stuff around the house! Not perhaps as permanent or as thorough as spraying before we move in, but it seems to be effective. Yaaaaynnrrrggrrrrnnnrrrrr(growly mouth noises) I hate silverfish. They’re hideous and freaky and destructive.

Today I played in the VCM’s Music Discovery Camp first week finale! It was tons of fun. I need to get the Oliver piano music book now. Yah! Sierra is an excellent actress, as well. She just needs to not rattle off her lines as if they’re something she memorized. Even when she does that, she puts expression into it (she was Dodger in the Oliver scene) but it goes by too quickly. But she did fine at the concert. Her little brother was Oliver, and he did pretty good too. Actually everyone did very well, but Sierra and Andrew (the king in The King and I scene, Daddy in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang scene) were the best. The camp was lots of fun, and Subway makes good sandwiches, and I got lots of practice done in between rehearsals, and my brother even came to the concert (in the hopes of seeing Nii-sama, ’tis true, who said he came close to being a student supervisor… the student supervisor we had was the daughter of my brother’s piano teacher).

Oh, but the only really bad thing to write about is that now I’m 138 lbs. Ugh. I drew a cariacature (spelling?) of myself last night and it made me feel somewhat better. I think technically I’m still just on the heavy side of healthy, but I’m nowhere near ‘fit’ or ‘active’ or ‘really healthy all around’. So I feel even more incentive to exercise… once school starts, of course! -_-7 Happily L thinks that running together is a great idea and I’m looking forward to it!

Oh, when I moved my bed to vacuum diatomaceous earth out from under it, I found the list of organ pieces that L wanted me to play last December… well, at least we know where it ended up! I’m learning new stuff now anyway, (including BWV565) so I’ll play that next time we go to a church. Maybe St. Dunstan’s! They have a nice organ that you can hardly tell is digital except for the stark lack of pipes!

They got a veeeery good looking couple to play Genaro and Amelia Luca in the latest Sherlock Holmes…

Quiz/Poll Questions: D’you think it’s worth using Javascript to keep the sidebar links updated? How about the category buttons? Who uses those? Would you miss them if I took them away? How about if I just put a link to the specific category page? Is there any way to update the linking mechanism so that for picture n, the next button will automatically link to picture n+1? What do you think would be good Kalmaeiric words for ‘north’ and ‘land’?

E-mail me the answers to any or all of these questions elfinessewebsiteathotmaildotcom! No hurry; you won’t see any of the proposed changes for many months. I work slowly. And the last I’ll be thinking about myself, so it’s covered even if nobody has anything specific to input there.

ordinaryheroiconAh, Anne. In colour! Original here. Ah, I did a sloppy job on the wings… but I still don’t know how to draw them. Anyway, I just tidied up a few details before posting it today, like the ear and the wing texture. As you can see I went crazy with the multiply function in Photoshop, though it is a tiny bit annoying that when you merge layers they either both become multiply or they both become normal… Didn’t really bother me here, though. And the bucket seems to have survived! Anyway, y’know, I think I actually prefer the pencil version – colour accentuates my mistakes/inaccuracies.

Anne’s story is Flightless Hawk!

Meh, I was going to say something interesting, but I forgot it.

Oh, right. I’m going to go through all my documents and post all the random bits that got left out. Like these Photoshop pictures. Also any minis that got left out… maybe even the first Ceniro movie! Everything will be up before the…19th or so. Then in September we will return to boring old pencil sketches. I just looked, and there’ll be one of a whole bunch of things (including another Flairé pose) and then a steady run of Zelda interspersed with LotR and other stuff. Good luck to us all.

Musicals are interesting, aren’t they? I should watch the Sound of Music. I haven’t seen it all the way through. I researched Annie Oakley yesterday, though, both the musical and the person. Interesting!

esgalwenavatarYaaay! Commander Lord Ike!

I was listening to Fire Emblem 9 music, and there’s this one track that sounds so… cinematic. It’s called #38 “Rally the Spirit”, and it has this rush in it and then a beautiful theme in the trombones… It’s just like climbing to the top of a green hill ahead of your army and seeing your beautiful homeland once again, and the sun shines on your face and the wind streams through your hair and makes your headband tails flow out behind you… Doesn’t seem to have much effect on your cloak, however.

I did use something of a reference for Ike’s hair. I also did this in pseudo-anime style (see mouth) but I do like the eye and ear. This whole picture completely made up for the last three or four sloppy jobs.

I love FE9 music! I should listen to it more often! I should try and put it on my iPod!

Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett is now on KCTS (at midnight, I believe… we’re taping it – yes, we still have a VCR! And mighty proud of it, too!). We’ve seen A Scandal in Bohemia and The Dancing Men which has a nice guy die in it… too bad! But Holmes – I mean, Brett – oh, forget it, Holmes – is brilliant! Hooray!
