A Thousand Tiny Battles: Look At Me

Now I’m wishing I’d put more scenes like this in the original story. But then it would have been EVEN LONGER! So this is fine.

Don’t you love Serra? XD

Look at Me

Kent and Ceniro had gone ahead to Castle Araphen – which was also a proper castle, by the looks of it – and the rest of us were wandering the city streets, guided by Sain. Almost none of us had been here before, and it was quite different from Bulgar, certainly. Bigger, firstly – the city was bigger, the houses were at least twice as tall, set closer together, and many of them were made of stone. The style was different, too, without any trace of familiar Sacaean elements anywhere. And it, unfortunately, smelled a lot worse than I’d been expecting. The streets might have been paved with stones, unlike Bulgar, but I just had to watch my step even more.

But the people were colourful, many of them dressed in brighter colours than most Sacaeans would wear… my own bright teal deel was not really common among my people. Most of them wore reddish-brown colours, or sometimes earthy green. My father had given my deel to me a couple years ago, saying I was the gift of Mother Earth and Father Sky to Mother and him, and the blue and green blended in the colour of my clothing was symbolic of that. After that, I never wore anything else. Here, though, people wore whatever colours they liked, it looked like. Reds and blues and greens and black and white, everywhere I looked. Continue reading

A Thousand Tiny Battles: Talk To Me

My friend commented on the fact that in The Tactician and the Heiress, it’s quite plain to see why Ceniro loves Lyn… but not so clear to see why Lyn would love Ceniro. So I decided to write some short bits from her point of view, each dealing with a different aspect or challenge of their growing, changing relationship.

It’s quite understandable why it might be difficult to see why Lyn would love Ceniro. At the time that I wrote it, I wasn’t sure why Lyn would love Ceniro either. And I was holding out for Lyn/Hector to be endgame. But… then it didn’t end up that way, because Lyn is stubborn.

There will not be 1000 chapters in this story. : P

Talk to Me

For six months, I’d been alone. For six months, it had just been me, my horse, and my little ger, until I began to run out of food and sold my horse, meaning I could no longer wander aimlessly as I used to.

Soon, the food would run out again, and then I would have to find some way to stay alive, to hunt or starve. Or perhaps I could sell the services of my sword, but I had little experience actually fighting and none at all as a mercenary.

Staying alive meant finding some way to deal with the crippling loneliness. With Florina so far away… Continue reading

Ceniro

ceniroaction2

Decided to paint Ceniro a while back, cuz I love him and he’s taken a couple levels in badass thanks to the best girlfriend ever.. Got stalled on his sleeve cuffs for a bit, but then I slapped something together and called it done. It’s entirely possible he’s fighting for his life in the Battle of Armica against Milton. (But not yet at the part where he gets his arm chopped off.)

Original title is original

Anima’s Seal: Epilogue: Rising Star

Episode 13: Tomorrows

Couldn’t resist throwing on a last-minute epilogue based on the game epilogue. Might edit it tomorrow.

Next project, besides finishing the Ceniro painting I started last week (and a bunch of other paintings that it’s HIGH TIME to start) – A Thousand Tiny Battles, or Why Lyn Fell For Such a Dork. : D

Epilogue: Rising Star

“Eliwood! Thanks for coming!” Hector boomed across the inner garden of Castle Ostia.

“It’s truly been a while, hasn’t it?” Eliwood said, smiling at his old friend. “More than ten years since we managed to meet in person. Not since Lyn and Ceniro’s wedding, I think?” Continue reading

Anima’s Seal: Episode 13: Tomorrows

Episode 12: Sealing, Part 2       Epilogue: Rising Star

Just a couple more soundtracks… we have Life Goes On for the conversation in Sacae and your end credits song is Dark Pit’s Theme! (and possibly The Mysterious Murasame Castle Medley for the wedding shenanigans)

And… I moved a bunch of things back to the previous chapter because this one was getting freakishly long SO GO CHECK THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER FOR NEW THINGS

I may edit this one and add a couple more details now that I’ve cut down the length a bit so stay tuned I guess.

Also I was going to put the other half of Ceniro’s backstory with Lord Garlent in this chapter, but it didn’t really fit. With the length, it definitely didn’t fit. So I’ll save that for the inevitable sequel.

Episode 13: Tomorrows

Pent and Louise had gone north, so they went west, as fast as they could. Ceniro wanted to make as much time as he possibly could before the Bern Army could regroup and come after them – because that was undoubtedly their next course of action, once they had dealt with Milton’s allies. Ceniro wanted to get as close to Lycia as possible before that happened. Then they’d head north through Lycia, into Etruria, and from there back to Sacae. It would take a couple months, but it would be the best course.

Of course, first he had to deal with the fact that everyone, especially him, was completely, bone-crushingly exhausted. They stopped after an hour or two, when it was too dark for anyone but Lyn to comfortably travel, and made camp a little ways off the road. Continue reading

Anima’s Seal: Episode 12: Sealing, Part 2

Episode 11: Sealing, Part 1       Episode 13: Tomorrows

Moar soundtracks! Well, basically the same ones as last time, but with the addition of Armageddon (whoooo yeahhhhh finally) for Lyn vs. Milton. Then, there’s Not Alone for the conversation between Milton and Ceniro afterwards. And since I probably won’t get a chance to stick it in elsewhere, Beyond the Canyon is my personal theme for Pent and Louise.

I’m hoping this chapter isn’t too over the top, but then Karel is literally a one-man-army-slayer in canon so it’s probably fine.

I am SO CLOSE

but I thought this chapter was going to be short-ish BUT THEN THE ENDING TOOK TOO LONG so a bunch of stuff has been moved to the next chapter

EDIT: I MOVED IT BACK, GO TO THE 2/3rds MARK FOR NEW STUFF

Episode 12: Sealing, Part 2

He burst into a small clearing that was very much on fire, looked around, and took charge. “Murdock, Zephiel, knights, charge the knights on the left! Caddie, don’t extend too far, let Yens take the one on the right! Erk… keep at it!”

Erk had been driving back a wyvern who’d landed almost right on top of Wil, who lay sprawled on the ground at its feet, a lance through his upper thigh terrifyingly close to his abdomen. Ceniro took his sword in both hands and ran past them, towards the footsoldiers that Caddie and Yens were fighting together. Continue reading

Anima’s Seal: Episode 11: Sealing, Part 1

Episode 10: The Blizzard       Episode 12: Sealing, Part 2

Oh boy oh boy oh boy I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. Have some soundtracks!

And there’ll be more next chapter too! Eeeeee!

Episode 11: Sealing, Part 1

Spring had come to Elibe again; Klein was one year old. Ceniro and his company were in Bern, hunting high and low for evidence of Eckesachs, the only Legendary Weapon they had not yet sealed away.

They hadn’t had much luck on any fronts; it was as if Eckesachs had never existed. Even the dark mages of Bern weren’t any help. And Ceniro had this nagging worry… Milton had gone back to Bern after his defeat a year ago. He’d had a year to search for the weapon, even if he’d been sending his associates across Elibe for other weapons. Unfortunately, that worry didn’t do anything useful, and it certainly didn’t help find clues, so he tried not to dwell on it. They were doing what they could. Continue reading
