Sleep

This is pretty much how I feel now, too. Figure study of me, because for some reason I have nicely curved hips.

I’ve been having dizzy spells all day, today and yesterday. I hope I’m not getting sick with something. I had a nap both afternoons, too, and that didn’t stop it.

I’ll tell you about all the fantastic things that’ve been happening later, when I don’t feel so dizzy.

Lunars

Veeery quick painting for the Wayrift Lunar contest; Lilkislinon (Flaria’s bf) and Shlaes (queen of the Dragonland) who are my two white-haired characters, all adjusted to be NPC bystanders or something!

Differences: Lilkislinon is now RiKiNon (more Japanese-sounding, extra syllable eliminated, emphasis on the second syllable) and his eyes are pale green (instead of grey). Not sure about the hair and its spikiness. Shlaes is now ShaLaYi (works pretty well, akshuly!) and her eyes are now dark green instead of brown.

Other things of note in Lunar canon: RiKiNon is pretty responsible for a guy who only recently grew out of childhood, and pretty deferential to his superiors. But he’s very active, yearning for adventure, and when he’s on his own can be pretty impulsive.

ShaLaYi, on the other hand, is secretly really awesome at self-defence, but unless she’s really threatened, is terribly shy. She carries herself with confidence until someone talks to her, and she only speaks in a soft tone. Inclined to poetry.

Other things of note in kalmaeirin canon: yes, Lilkislinon is really that pale now. Quite a contrast to his brother, Jalril, neh? That’s what working in the Arctic does to the kalmaei. Bleaches ‘em! Kinda went to town on his outfit, but that’s good, right? He’s a knightly-knight-guy, having trained in the northern militaries for many years, but all that training has not entirely stamped out his innate Griffonlander wildness. So even though he’s now a pretty serene, gentlemanly, even princely and unearthly, honour-bound knight, it’s difficult to tell what he’s thinking, and he can suddenly dissolve into playfulness or incredible dignity (think ‘cat-like’) at the blink of an eye. I’m not sure about the multiple belts (there’s three; one of them’s behind his folded arms) but I guess the shoulder-cape is pretty dashing so that will stay.

Shlaes is here in her pre-queen dress, and yes, her hair is that fluffy (that’s where her name comes from!). She is indeed very reserved, and when she does become queen, keeps well out of politics. Sorry about the broken-arm look. I’m quite pleased with her green/yellow shawl, though! Being first-generation, she’s (much) older than Lilkislinon, who’s like fourth-generation or something.

We got some windows replaced today! They can now be opened and closed normally. Also they are much more musical.

Also met someone today who’s been in the same place as me earlier in life, only I would have no idea I’d meet them again later.

Cake!

Layalin

Layalin, the red-curly-haired princess of unicorns. I’m pretty sure this was originally for the bio page (it has details on the clothes! I never do that!) HOWEVER her arms are too long and her legs are too short. And I think she’s holding, like, a music scroll or something, but since we don’t necessarily know that it just looks like she’s scrunching up a roll of useless fabric.

Anyway. We have new windows. They will give greater insulation against heat and cold, AND we can actually open them all the way because they don’t stick and they have screens! Hooray!

Also I played two dungeons in Ocarina of Time, and I’m about to draw my submission to the Wayrift Lunar contest. And a “Hard Fairy”, which is a piece for saxophone and two pianos, but I’m going to draw a punk fairy, too. I did an awesome drawing of Menad today, but it’s in my keyboard lit notes, so it might be a while before you see it. Which reminds me I think I want to separate my sketch dumps into individual pictures so it’s easier to find things in them. : P

Beginning of a chibi version of a sketch that I want to turn into a serious picture. Unfortunately, if I only get this far, how long is it going to take me to finish the serious picture? …Too long, anyway! But these two are cute.

Isn’t Math adorable? I think this might be intended for his character page but I forget; I’ll figure that out later. For now, enjoy the littlest brother. But please don’t ask me if he’s wearing pants or not because I don’t know.

Spent most of today hanging out with my awesome percussionist buddy I haven’t seen in 6 months. But more importantly, the grad recital went very well! I’m happy with how I played and zomg my organist friend showed up even though he said he was busy! (It’s spring break; he’s not busy.) But it was a huge surprise and meant a lot to me in addition to all the other wonderful people who also came, like church music people! And two priests! And RCCO Victoria people! And of course a whole boatload of friends, one of whom I will forever remember fondly because he whooped (loudly) when I announced the composer of my encore (the one and only Nobuo Uematsu).  Anyway, we had enough food for everyone, and I was given armfuls of flowers (wah) which are now all over the house. On to the next challenge! (which involves logarithms, prolly.)

Will post vids when I get ‘em.
