Leslie: Well, this has certainly been a weird day… I had a nap and I wake up… in Jen’s head? (shakes head) No, it has to be real. Flairé is so nice, and Flaria is such a good cook… (dark-clad figures creep in through open window and grab her) Ah!

Working on colour. Will try to get it up tomorrow. Need to find dark red marker that’s not purple. Markers drying up.

Aaaaaah! Something happened! Oh noes!

Hold on to your instruments, things are actually going to go pretty fast from this point on. I guess I need to work on pacing more.

How do you like the attempt at moonlit floor? That’s not a moon in the upper right panel - it’s a stained glass window.

Sorry I’m late again. I was getting ready for Christine’s recital! She looked like a goddess of spring, with a light green silk gown and a silver clip in her golden hair. And she played fantastically, of course! Laura was pretty amazed at the end of the trio (Pantheon by Elizabeth Raum) because we filled the hall with so much sound. And yesterday was spent cleaning and watching movies (Beauty and the Beast twice, a BBC show about space and stuff, a different programme about Mozart, and Spirited Away just for kicks). And now I am practicing. Or supposed to be. Also we renewed our rented FFIV and Lego Indy 2, because Kevin is really really close to beating FFIV (Theobez (and Bluya!) for the fail! : P hahaha). Now I need to reread Darkstar AGAIN. Oh, and Apollo, from the Raum trio mentioned above, would be a GREAT theme song for Aur. Yesssssss.

My Bach is all memorized! Huzzah! And memorized good!

Now I go to beat the Beethoven into submission tomorrow. (sigh) The exposition of the first movement is acting up again. If I can’t keep that under control, how am I going to learn the (difficult) coda of the last movement?

And then I will memorize the rest of the Dutilleux because I want to play it on Thursday. If not I will be breaking out the Beethoven.

The Cilantro Conjurer, destroyer of taste buds. : P From here.

Apologies to those people who are fans of cilantro and/or Mexican food, which uses it. (I too like Mexican food, but I can’t stand cilantro)

Was messing around on Aja’s Art Blog and found a picture I’d never seen before. The Hamster Kicker. How did I miss this?

Oooh, it’s a painting! Not Photoshop, but Corel Painter. I was messing around with it, trying to see if I could get it to work. I think I did. In a rudimentary fashion, anyway.

One new thing I tried was highlighting from two different light sources. Well, that’s rather fancy talk for what I really did. I just highlighted from a neutral light source, then applied the blue layer and added orange highlight on one side - for the fire - and white on the other - for the moon. It’s a little bit too subtle but too much looked really bad.

The attitude turned out pretty good, though.

I painted this while listening to The Kilforna Set from the Chieftains Album Water in the Well. Great tunes!

Am beginning my recital poster as soon as I post this.

Hey, I need a pianist to sub for me at a short and rather informal choral concert on Sunday. It’s only an hour long with an hour long rehearsal beforehand; good pay and transportation provided. Comment or email me if interested and available and dwelling in Victoria! : P

            30 seconds later:

Flaria: Oh! A person. How old is she? Does she like music? Where did you get the dress?

Flairé: Her name is Leslie, she’s 19, and she plays music everyday. We got the dress at Avumal’s place. Miss Leslie, this is my over-excitable sister Flaria.

Flaria: *eyeroll* Hello, Leslie! I’m very pleased to meet you. What do you like to eat?

             Leslie: What is there?

Hi! I need to go do stuff, so here is the finished ink of the page. No colour; that will come later.

AAAAAHHHHH IT’S A FEMALE FLAIRÉ just kidding.

Oh, yes. As soon as Flaria meets the new girl her thought is only hyper curiousity and whether she’s hungry.

This room needs a little more colour. The next time you see it, it will have some red drape-y things. Almost wasn’t going light the candles, but then I figured that it would only be natural. And I’m running out of yellow marker! : ( I will try and fix that for next week but I make no guarantees.

Oh and I don’t think the “switching back and forth” in the first frame was too successful. I will do better next time. I also forgot Flairé’s sword in the second panel. He just took it off really really fast? Those kalmaei are fast, you know.

Successfully played two churches this morning. Not bad. Played the 3rd mvmt of Bédard’s Quatre Pieces en forme du Messe and the Menuet Gothique by Boellmann.

Okay I have rehearsal and lots of practice, so here I go.

Oh hei. I just beat Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations.

This is the greatest coincidence thing I have seen this week.

As you can probably guess, Godot was making coffee metaphors again...

As you can probably guess, Godot was making coffee metaphors again...

…Not much else to report. Except that I still haven’t touched FFIV (from whence that reference comes ftw) and we rented Indiana Lego DS II, which could be a problem. : P

Also I had really really bad circulation today due to sitting really really still for a long long time. My hands were just frozen. : (

Two churches tomorrow oh noes.

I will be drawing tomorrow’s comic tonight, which will still be late, I think, (sorry) and exploring North Kryta.

Still no pictures. Sorry. I’m juggling practice, pointless errands, classes, emails, and Phoenix Wright. Oh, and food and sleep.

Hi, I am zonked, no picture today, going to bed directly I come home from choir.

There was a spectacular double rainbow to the northwest this morning. I took cell phone pictures.

I now own Duruflé’s Messe Cum Jubilo. Yaaaaay this is so exciting I can now sing along with my recording. …That’s not the only reason I bought it. Really.

Flairé: We’re going to go now, Yoeath. Unless you want to stay longer? (Leslie: Ummm… shrug?) We’re going to meet my sister and get some food. You know!

Yoeath: Get along with you then, Zelaré.

Leslie: Ummm… I thought your name was Flairé?

Flairé: Well, most people call me the son of my father. But she’s friends with my mother, so she calls me the son of my mother.

          Leslie: Ohhhh…

Flairé: Bit awkward that my little brother calls himself Marteth Hciristial Zelaré, though…

          Leslie: ?

…Confused yet? : P

Well, it’s not important anyway. As you can probably tell, Leslie already knows a good deal about kalmaeirin naming conventions due to hanging around me a lot. o_O7

Next page is in production. Next three pages are in production. At the end of it, something happens, so hang in there!

Too Many Guild Wars Screenshots

gilwatam1lilies

Okay, folks, it’s that time of something again when I dump a whole bunch of pretty pictures I didn’t really make on you. : P First is Tam at that lovely lovely waterlily pool in the southwestern Catacombs - by the devourers on the inside, and vaguely near Orion on the outside. So pretty! Tam is my Elementalist character who is part warrior - hence the sword and shield outfit. But I really meant to make him half Paragon so he could use a spear to effect. Meh. Perhaps that will change. But the blue hair stays. X D

Just to make clear, this picture is from underground (with a cracked ceiling, admittedly).

gilwatam2kellan

Tam and my brother’s main, Kellan Dunns, goofing around in the back of the mountains.

gilwaflaire11

One of Flairé’s new coats, with a nice red dye job. Yay! New gloves, too. Scaley.

gilwagullac1

Say hello to one of my other alts, Gullac. This character has been deleted until I unlock the Assassin class so he can use daggers. He’s a Necromancer as a first class, though, because it has more appropriate hair. And posture. And faces. Though his hair could be a shade darker.

gilwatam3sword

Tam, dynamically using that sword of his. He won. Even though he was fighting four bandits and a wolf.

gilwabearorion

This picture is because I’m an Orion fangirl because there’s a bear’s face on the back of the bear!!! 8 O

Do you see it? Do you see it?

gilwatam4excata

Tam, standing in that particular spot in Green Hills County where you can look into the Catacombs. I find that so very very cool, because if you go into the Catacombs and stand on that bridge, you can look back out. Whee! Oh, and it’s pretty, too.

gilwasnowman

A melted snowman near the forges in Lion’s Arch. With one of Flairé’s footprints.

gilwagullac2

Gullac, sittin’ on the stairs… in the Catacombs… bein’ an emo little boy…

Gullac should not be emo. o_O7

gilwagullac3

This looks cute somehow. (the /stand animation)

gilwazela2adriano

Zela (helmet on : P) and Adriano (my brother’s alt) goofing off while waiting for Orion to head up to Foible’s Fair to see his girlfriend Ralena. I’m playing violin, he’s playing… guitar. Neither very well. : P

gilwaflaire12drunk

Flairé gave in to the pestering of his friend Kellan 8 O and had a few eggnogs in Ascalon. Obviously Kellan is still in the giddy stages while Flairé is already feeling the effects. Heh. …Why is normal eggnog alcoholic?

gilwaadriano1

Showing Adriano the Wise’s true height (short). He’s based off a gnomish monk character for a verbal roleplay we did once and his most popular spell was Blind (”The guy taps you on the shoulder.” “Adriano casts Blind!!” “… For the fifteenth time?” “Yes!!!”)

What is little known is that he goes bald underwater… true story. In Guild Wars, I mean.

gilwaflaire13

Flairé’s current new coat (in a fetching shade of green where possible), as he is blowing up bad guys on one of those far west Krytan story missions in the moonlight. No tubas, though. Oh, and I got his leather pants dyed blue. I think they look nice. I also removed his creepy hunter mask to see what his mouth looked like while talking in cutscenes. …It’s okay, I guess. I dunno. I’ll have to see more.

Organ crawl was great, today. I learned all about the digital side of the organ, which was a complete mystery to me before. You should all come to the RCCO convention in July!!! It’ll be a party!!! …Actually the convention itself is rather expensive. Come to the concerts. Unless you’re an organist. : )

Aur the SOLDIER

... ... ... What?

... ... ... What?

Aur the SOLDIER (sorta)

Dec 18, ‘09

(588)

Um. Aur, of Dreigiau/Shimmer/Darkstar/Wayrift fame (though for the last two he’s called Chase), as a SOLDIER from Final Fantasy VII. I know Aywren doesn’t particularly care for FFVII, as she’s one of those who thinks the last great FF game was VI. But my brother loves FFVII: Crisis Core, and wanted to play a game based on it. So I was the player, he was the gamemaster, and I randomly picked to play as Aur because I think Aur is cool and it meant I didn’t have to think up a brand new person and I didn’t have to play as one of my pre-existing characters, which would have made him groan in exasperation. And while we were playing I drew a picture.

Aur the SOLDIER was a young, taciturn, 3rd-class SOLDIER in training for Shin-Ra. After stopping a traitor Turk from sabotaging a reactor, he went to Wutai in a helicopter to investigate who was behind the traitor.

He never made it. Shot down by hidden guns in the middle of nowhere, his grunt soldiers all killed in the crash, he approached a small cottage only to find it was a hidden stronghold of the enemy. He is about to venture down to the lower levels of this secret military research facility…

The funniest part would be this exchange.

Aur’s Phone: *ring ring*

Aur: Aur here.

Aur’s Overseer: So you’ve captured the traitor? Good. Bring him back to Dennis, the 1st-class SOLDIER in your area.

Aur: Understood. *hangs up*

Aur’s Phone: *ring ring*

Aur’s Overseer: Don’t ever hang up on me before I’m done again. And talk to Dennis for further instructions.

Aur: … |: (

Last night I dreeeeaaaaaamed… that I saw winged cats in the kitchen. They were cute.

There was also a bit wherin I was registranting for Organist again - except that his music was something like one line (three staves still, of course) with whole notes and half notes and quarter notes in large print. … Anyway, he played it successfully : P and then we sang the Kyrie from Mozart’s Requiem and there was suddenly a large choir with us.

Then I went outside and there was someone playing flute so I took off my coat and my (organ! : O ) shoes and danced in the rain until I fell down and hurt myself. Then Organist came back and we talked about Liszt.

This was all in the dream. No kidding. If Organist had really been around here we would probably have sung Duruflé’s Kyrie. Either of them. Both of them. Whatever.

Organ crawl today! …I WAS going to say something else but I forgot it. Well, I could tell you that it’s pretty cool to listen to your own playing through a microphone. And I’ve started memorizing the Franck. And Flairé and Kellan adventured muchly in Guild Wars last night instead of doing Latin/French homework (respectively).

Oh well. Latin homework is easy.

Oh! I remember! I am planning to put up a couple screenshots from Guild Wars soon. This evening, perhaps.
