Yesterday, my Dad sat down with me (and my brother) and we worked out a system by which I (and my brother) shall become an accomplished runner by the end of the summer.
So I made a cool chart in Excel.

And today I went running, starting on ‘Wednesday’, because it is, which is column 3 out of 7. The heights show how many laps of the local golf course I’m going to be doing.
So far, I’m excited about this plan. Maybe I will finally get slim as I used to be! Maybe not, but I think I will at least stop ‘growing sideways’, which, if you haven’t noticed it, has been subtle but present.
My dad also suggested I do the same thing for my piano practice, and also that I pull a Liszt and practice more tech than rep. Don’t tell May Ling! I may or may not do it. I figure now is a better time to try it than September, anyway.
