Kalmaeiric Bathing Pool

Shower time

Shower time

The waterfall here is the best and worst part of the picture… no, it’s the best part. It’s supposed to be the place where the women of the castle of the moon come to have a shower and swim and stuff. There are supposed to be trees – that’s what the things with dotted lines are supposed to be. It will be better when I do a follow up one of these years. Meh.

Hero of Violinists

Sweet sound, sweet smile

Sweet sound, sweet smile

If you can’t guess, I didn’t draw him well enough: it’s Joshua Bell! He plays so beautifully, I believe he’s the best violinist in the world today. I especially like his Kreisler.

Very plain picture, based on a picture either from one of my four CD booklets or his website.

Ice Spirit

So cool he's hot or something like that

So cool he’s hot or something like that

That up there is someone who doesn’t normally look that way: it’s Kopaka from Bionicle (a Lego franchise). Basically, he’s a powerful warrior and guardian of the Bionicle people who live up the mountain, and he uses ice as a weapon. He’s pretty cool, the coolest character in Bionicle. If Bionicle can be considered cool. It’s not fabulous, and they’re getting weirder than ever. Their first movie (we saw the first and the second) was okay, but corny and kinda stupid. I just like Kopaka. He was also the first guy to show up in the comic that came with the magazine that we got for a few years, and he had some good lines. I also like the others a bit, Lewa best of the others, I guess.

Prince Marth of Altea

This is a portrait of Marth, and I tried to shade it, but it’s not very good. And I had a terrible time scanning it. The squigglies on his collar aren’t very good. Neither is his hair.

Today, I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet after I’m finished this. I will probably try drawing my Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain book. I’ve gotten to the pure contour drawing part! My drawing of a hand looked like a hand, but my drawing of an orchid looked like a squiggle. That’s because the parts aren’t lined up and are disjointed and overlapping. I think I’m improving.

Golden-haired Elf coloured

Can someone fix my spooky eyes? Anyone?

Can someone fix my spooky eyes? Anyone?

Ah, now this is a Photoshop picture. I didn’t know much about using Photoshop as a paint program, but I did my best. I also didn’t know much about shading anatomy. >_<7 The lips are good, if nothing else. The eyes are also just how I imagined them. I rather like the hair, which was done by drawing different coloured streaks of yellowy-brown – must be easier with a tablet – and using the smudge tool. It’s the coloured version of this picture.

Pillar of Ivory

These guys are the Pillar of Ivory, which Penlod has command over, also the Tower of Snow or something. So Penlod is the shaggy-headed guy in front with a double shield. I hollowed out a helmet for him. I put too much green stuff on his head for his hair. His face is the Silver Helm unhelmeted head; I had a spare, and that face is the most handsome that I have. The shields are all decals done in Photoshop and printed on decal paper, with a bit of Dad’s help. The banner, though, was painted by hand.

I also put hair on all the other guys, as well. Hopefully it looks better than all those scraggly Minas Tirith warriors in the movie. I always thought the Warhammer High Elf Spearmen looked like dressed up apes, but I managed to paint them to downsize this aspect – unlike their professional ‘Eavy Metal team, which painted it professional style, which made them uglier.

I’ll just point out that Penlod died in the story. Darn.

I really like this unit. I’ll have to get another for the Tower of Snow guys now.
