glorfindeliconThe waterfall here is the best and worst part of the picture… no, it’s the best part. It’s supposed to be the place where the women of the castle of the moon come to have a shower and swim and stuff. There are supposed to be trees – that’s what the things with dotted lines are supposed to be. It will be better when I do a follow up one of these years. Meh.

Looks like a spree of Zela pictures ahead.

The page before this had a wierd, ugly scribble of an eyeball, I think belonging to my brother. Not just an eyeball, really, but eyelashes and things too. But it was wierd.

Apparently there was no Games Workshop today, so my upset brother is sitting beside me, wanting me to get on with it. So I will.

eliwoodninianforesticonIf you can’t guess, I didn’t draw him well enough: it’s Joshua Bell! He plays so beautifully, I believe he’s the best violinist in the world today. I especially like his Kreisler.

Very plain picture, based on a picture either from one of my four CD booklets or his website.

So now I get to tell you how far I’ve gotten in Disc 2: to the Water Temple. Haven’t beaten the boss yet, but I have to go and get that King Moblin music fanfare shot first. Ilia’s wonderful. I really think that Renado and Thelma are in love, or have been in love, or something, and they just don’t want to show it.

flaireavatarThat up there is someone who doesn’t normally look that way: it’s Kopaka from Bionicle (a Lego franchise). Basically, he’s a powerful warrior and guardian of the Bionicle people who live up the mountain, and he uses ice as a weapon. He’s pretty cool, the coolest character in Bionicle. If Bionicle can be considered cool. It’s not fabulous, and they’re getting wierder than ever. Their first movie (we saw the first and the second) was okay, but corny and kinda stupid. I just like Kopaka. He was also the first guy to show up in the comic that came with the magazine that we got for a few years, and he had some good lines. I also like the others a bit, Lewa best of the others, I guess.

Now an update from Hyrule! Man, I’ve been chasing after Link with a video camera for so long, I think I would be vastly in shape if only I weren’t controlling the camera from the ease of my own chair at the computer. I worked so hard on the movie I couldn’t get to sleep the first night because I was so excited and I almost forgot to eat for a few days. It’s way too long – an hour and twenty minutes or so and we only got to restoring light to Lanayru – but it has what we think of as all good stuff on it, and Kevin just loves some of my scene changes. I’m pretty pleased with them myself. It’s mostly cut scenes, and it emphasizes what we think is important: Colin and Ilia, the cat stealing Link’s second fish, Uli’s cradle (since it shows up in the – guess I can’t tell you), taming Epona with really fabulous music (just take a listen next time you play that bit – it’s wonderful), SUUUUMMOOOOO, and some nifty other shots we thought were too good to leave out, in addition to the main story that revolves around Link and Midna and Zelda. And Zorg – I mean, Zant. What kind of cheesy name is Zant? Oh, and the bit where Midna says “What sort of weapons are these?” – almost chops Link’s head off, dumps the shield on his face – is pretty funny. And we had to leave in the Light Spirits because they have important exposition. Ugh. They talk so slowly. The menus were hard to do, because I didn’t understand at all, and the help wasn’t much help. But now, I have a really, really, great menu. Except you can’t see which button you have selected on the main menu. Odd, it shows up on the computer but not the TV. Oh, well. You can generally guess where you are since there are only two buttons. The chapter menus are nice, and they have moving thumbnails! Although one isn’t long enough, so we get a shot of Link getting booted off a cliff by a Goron over and over and over – which I guess isn’t as bad as the shot of Chapter 4 or 5 or so, which just has Ordona blabbing on and on. I put the Hyrule Field theme on the main menu, and the Ordon Village theme on the chapter menus. When it came time to render, I was pretty upset because I needed massive space on the computer that we didn’t have. So Dad, who was absolutely wonderful and supportive through the whole thing, took off his Flight Sim X and Combat Flight Sim 3 and stuff like that and set the thing to render overnight. Next morning we watched the whole video (which was only up to Colin’s injunction to save Ilia at that time) and found the main menu not working the way I wanted it. So, we did it again that afternoon. Now it works! I think Dad was so supportive (of a project having to do so much with something that rather bores him – he thinks Zelda is perfect fodder for teasing us with) is that making any movie is COOL and that he wants us to do it quick so he can install his new gaming video card (which we are also excited about).

The only reason that I can update today is that Kevin’s gone to Games Workshop to play with the guys and I don’t want to go too far without him, although he’s messed up the music of a couple scenes (e.g. bridge joust #2) by either waiting not long enough (usually) or too long or expecting me to do a cut anyway and pressing start. Rrrr. We missed a fabulous fanfare. I think I’m going to go get that footage again, except better. Before he gets back.

poolpartyiconThis is a portrait of Marth, and I tried to shade it, but it’s not very good. And I had a terrible time scanning it. The squigglies on his collar aren’t very good. Neither is his hair.

Today, I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet after I’m finished this. I will probably try drawing my Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain book. I’ve gotten to the pure contour drawing part! My drawing of a hand looked like a hand, but my drawing of an orchid looked like a squiggle. That’s because the parts aren’t lined up and are disjointed and overlapping. I think I’m improving.

And finally we do not still have Chapter 6 of the infinitely-long-titled work. I managed to work in a nifty little plot point that won’t manifest itself again until the sequal to this story. -_-7 But I need to finish the other half of the chapter. And it’s on hold again, since we absolutely need to do my Twilight Princess Movie project because Dad wants to put in the other video card – the super-gamer one that won’t allow us to edit media sort of thing. So we will be working hard on that and trying to beat it and edit it etc. by Sunday. Our positions are as follows:
Jen: Producer/Editor (I oversee the filming of important segments and make sure they’re the way I want them, or at least super dramatic, and put together the shots I want into a cohesive story)
Kevin: Director (he plays the game, and has input into what is cool or not)

wilflorinaiconOkay, I have nooooo idea what Ellis looks like. Anyone, reference pictures? Please?

The art is almost as bad as page one. Redraw! …Later.

And yeah, I did the Legendary Pokemon Event Match with Marth without getting KO’d once. Veeeeery difficult, and I had to restart several times. Darn Jigglypuff. This was during another depressed period, and I was determined to beat that difficult level before Kevin did, or else!

I’m terrible at hands and phones and things. And why does Ellis have a phone? Why is Sheeda in Castle Altea? Oooh, plot-holes! For another matter, what is Super Smash Bros. Melee?
I wrote a story about it wondering that very question, and my result was a bit odd, but I don’t think of it as canon or anything because Rana is in it. And it petered out at about Chapter 3. Anyway, this is ‘more canon’, because there are no original characters, and hardly any backstory, but it’s still just a random story about depression and revival. Oops! Shouldn’t have said that!

Last composition lesson today, and I don’t know whether to make Quartet Movement III into a sonata, my original idea, or just leave the expo as it is and forget the other two sections and call it through-composed. Meh.
